The CNC TEC tool 5/8 end mill performs well for the finishing of many materials. Tested on various plastics, this end mill leaves a nice surface finish with no chipping, while generating little heat. The cutter geometry is fairly basic, reminiscent of a budget mill, though that doesn't seem to be a issue, as of yet. Untested on steels, but would purchase again for plastics.

I did not have any bits to mill aluminum for a project I was working on. I decided to try these out and I was very pleased with the result of these bits. The cost was minimal just in case they did not perform very well. I have spent more on bits for the CNC that did not perform very well at all. I used these bits on a piece of aluminum stock to create a replacement for a plastic shelf bracket that had broken. Once the part was drawn, I used these bits on my CNC to mill the part. I do not typically mill aluminum but the cut was very nice and I did not have any issues with chip extraction from these bits. I can’t speak on how long or how many projects you can get out of the bit before it needs to be replaced. But for my application it did it very efficiently and I was happy with the end result.Nice set of bits for the hobbyist like myself. I would say add these to your toolbox for the next time you need a reliable bit.

I have been working on a mini automotive project which is nearly completed. It involves making multiple metal component attachments using rivets and, for heavier parts, sizeable bolts. I used standard metal drill bits for making the holes. These bits became available to me and I decided to take advantage of them even though I was nearly done with the project. They were shipped and arrived very quickly. I confess that I was very surprised at how much better and smoother these bits cut through the metal sheets that I was working with. They are unusual looking (for me anyway), but they work very well and require a lot less effort to get the job done. They work more quickly, and they remain cooler, too!I know that durability and breakage are always issues to worry about when it comes to metal bits. I can’t speak to that at the moment, but will provide an update when I’ve had a chance to use these a little longer. Judging from their construction, packaging, and very nice performance so far, though, I expect that I will be happy with these in the long run, too.

Small but powerful. Used to drill holes in some sheet metal I was using for a project and they worked well. Check size, these are small both in length and diameter.
