If you bought all these pieces separately, you'd spend 2 or 3 times the cost of this kit. And when you make and repair light fixtures, you are always looking for just the right component or piece of hardware, and these are some of the most common pieces you look for. So it's very handy to have a kit like this, especially the threaded rod/nipples at such a variety of different lengths.

Just what I needed to refurbish some old custom made lamps.Be aware that the threaded nipples are plated steel, not sold brass, as is true with most such parts now.Unless it's used in a high-rust environment (a beach house, for example) the strength advantage of plated steel is a good tradeoff.
