I've been using these for my spring starts that are big enough to move out of starter trays, but not ready to brave the frost that is still around in February. What I like about these planters is that they keep the soil moist enough for starts without every day watering, but don't seem to be too high risk for root rot. The colors are pretty, the size is great for a start to maturing plant, and they hang beautifully. Highly recommend these planters. In fact, I would say they are a must-have this spring!

I like these pots for trailing and vining plants and potted them with a couple Hoya and Epiphyllum.Quality thick walled plastic with an appealing to me color selection and lightly textured matte finish.Chains are glossy black with easy to attach snap hooks. In my opinion these are good pot for plants that thrive being root bound as they will quickly seek the water retained at the bottom of the pot. Good choice for spider plants, Pothos, small philodendron, Hoya or ivy types. If self watering is a big selling point for you I would consider that these are not what I would call completely self watering. They do retain moisture in the saucer and the bottom of the pot is designed to wick water into the lower 3rd of the pot. This is good for well established plants and does induce new plants to grow deep roots but in my experience with these they doo retain moisture very little to wick water up into the top 2/3rds of the pot. I would suggest that adding a cotton wick to these at the time of planting would greatly improve the amount of moisture available to newly potted plants. One thing to not is these pots clean up nicely after plantingI got these primarily for their shape and overall esthetic which I personally find very appealing. Quality of the pots for a set of 4 is better that my local box store pots for less money per pot so I think there is value for the price. My grading scaleMy ratings are based on one or more of the following characteristics. Please note I consider 4 stars a very high rating.* 1 Star - unsatisfactory - poor quality - misleading or false ad copy - would not recommend to anyone* 2 Stars - below expectations, needs improvement - inferior materials And/Or design - poor value* 3 Stars - meets reasonable expectations of quality, design and durability at the price point* 4 Stars - Exceeded expectation - above average performance of materials, design and craftsmanship - good value - would recommend* Five stars - Truly outstanding - exceptional quality and design - exceeded all expectations of materials, design, craftsmanship, durability and value. Would recommend without any reservations5 point rating scale:* 1 - Unsatisfactory* 2 - Needs improvement* 3 - Meets expectations* 4 - Exceeds expectations* 5 - Truly outstanding

I like these pots. The plastic is decent thickness and should last a few seasons. They are a good size for most plants, without being overly large and heavy. I wish the trays matched the pots themselves, but it's not a big deal. They look nice. The pots have great drainage, which I appreciate as it will keep my plants healthy. The metal chains included are great and attach easily. Really looking forward to adding more hanging plants to the deck this spring. That said, the tray are a bit tough to attach tot he pots. You really need to make sure everything is lined up just right and need to apply a decent bit of pressure to get eh base to click into the pot. Otherwise you're going to have a mess on your hands. I also don't know that I would call these truly self-watering. Usually there is a wick or something in a self-watering pot to ensure the liquid is draw into the soil. This just has a small reservoir at the bottom. It has a small area where you can add water, but it's not robust. I look at the system as more of a way to keep water from draining everywhere and keep the plants somewhat hydrated on warm days, but it's not what I consider self-watering. However, for the price, it certainly serves my needs.

This set of self watering pots from KPUVX is a very decent set of pots. The thickness of the plastic is pretty equivalent to what I have found in the plant department at my local big box store. The chains that hold the pots up are not super heavy but they are adequate for these pots (unless you are hanging lead, of course, ha ha). I have not had any trouble with the self watering saucer sliding off the rest of the pot. I have been using these as hanging pots for about a week and have had the bottom filled with water the entire time. The bottoms are all still attached to the pots and have not slid at all. This seems counterintuitive since they do not have a way to snap on but it seems the saucers grip well enough without a snap. That's it. This is a better deal on small hanging pots than what I can find locally and I would definitely get these again.

I recently purchased the 4 Pack Plastic Hanging Planter Self Watering Pots (8 inches) for my garden and porch, and while they look nice and serve their purpose as hanging baskets, I encountered some issues that affected my overall satisfaction. The design is attractive, and the drainage holes are a great feature that help prevent root rot. However, the self-watering tray falls off easily, compromising the main selling point of the planters. Without a secure self-watering system, they function more like standard hanging pots, which makes the price point feel a bit too high for what you get.The chains provided for hanging are sturdy, and the overall construction of the pots is decent, but I expected more reliability in the self-watering mechanism.Overall, these planters are okay if you’re looking for attractive hanging pots, but if you’re specifically seeking self-watering functionality, I would recommend exploring other options that offer more stability. They could certainly benefit from improvements to the design to ensure the self-watering feature works as intended.
