There’s something wrong about the design of these letter openers. The blade is set back so far from the leading edge of the device that you need to jam it into the envelope flap an uncomfortable amount of distance before it begins to cut. That same deficiency also makes the exit of the opener awkward at the end of the flap.I suggest that you look for a different product.

Often the free-bees are hard to find and these are a necessity for opening a lot of mail. This design is actually better in my use with the long slender front. These are comfortable to use and open envelops with a zip and on to the next.Four will keep me going for a few months. Need to put these on automatic order :-)The blade is safely within the plastic and not dangerous to handle as long as kept in a save location.
