Both pieces were perfect size for 10 gallon aquarium, little extra piece as well under the plant. Soaked in water for 3 days prior to placing in tank. Very happy with purchase

I ordered two sets of two with the hope that at least one would be aesthetically pleasing for my aquarium. One was really cool all on it's own and I found that the other three less interesting pieces were actually pretty cool looking when conjoined in a way that made them look like one bigger piece of driftwood. Worked out pretty well and my shrimp and snails LOVE this driftwood.Tannins are extremely difficult to get out. I boiled the pieces for 3 days before adding them to my tank and it still darkens the water. Though I will say that with every water change it seems to take longer for the water to darken so I'm sure eventually it will stop. I'm very happy with the pieces I received.

On the left (see picture attached) is this product on the right is a competitors product Zilla Reptile Décor Malaysian Driftwood ASIN: B001F9CUY4, also purchased on amazon for about 3/4 of the price of the Zoo Med. As you can plainly see, you get a lot more for your money with this product, but the Zilla wood was a nice complement.I have two 10-gallon tanks and put one of each in both tanks and they look fantastic together. I boiled all the wood for about ten minutes, then soaked them for two days, changing the water whenever it got dark brown. Then I put them in my aquariums. They did not float. After three days I'm not seeing any discoloration of the water in either tank. One of the tanks has carbon in the filter and the other doesn't. My shrimp are CRAZY about the Zoo Med wood and there are tons of nooks and crannies for them to explore. This was a great buy and while I try to buy as much as possible from my Local Fish Store, their prices were prohibitive on wood, so I tried looking here. Yes, it's a gamble, but I do think I got my money's worth.Just remember that any natural substance can change the color of your water, even if you soak it first. And a natural substance, even if boiled, can grow a coating of bacteria in your aquarium because it is nutrient-rich--this is normal. In fact, it's desirable if you have shrimp--they eat the biofilm that develops. Overall I'm very happy and will definitely buy again if I set up another tank.

These can be hit or miss due to being a natural product, the shapes vary but compared to the fish store its a good deal. I like both pieces I got, they are both decently sized. I did boil them and soak for a few days, they still do turn the tank water tea colored but the fish seem to be very happy, the tank is not highly filtered maybe the bigger tank with heavier filtration will change that. The ph didn't drop (unfortunately). They sink like a rock so you don't have to glue them down at all, and they look really nice with Javas and Anubias on them. My nerite snail seems to like them a lot and so does the pleco.

I got two pieces I really like. The thing with wood is that you can't really know what you are going to get since it is real and not made out of a factory. I have tried two different methods of prepping/releasing the tannins from Mopani. With a piece, I bought previous to this order, I boiled the wood for 8 hours changing the water every hour. It required a lot of attention. With these, I simply put them in a bucket of water (treated with water conditioner) for 48 hours. I changed the water after 24 and it was really dark. I changed the water, in the end, and at that point, it was pretty light. I added the larger piece to the tank and there is no more leaching of tannins.I received one larger piece and a smaller piece. I put the larger piece in my 29-gallon tank and just shoved it down in the sand, it's standing on its own. I love the way it looks. The smaller piece is pretty awesome looking as well and I put that in my 10-gallon betta tank, leaned up against the wall. The betta loves swimming through it like a tunnel. The betta tank is darker in color because I added catappa leaves to brown the water, it's not from the wood. The betta loves that. Tannins are actually beneficial to the fish, however, a lot of people don't like the look of it.Overall I think the wood is fantastic for the price. Both pieces look awesome in my tanks.

I volunteer in the classroom at our local Humane Society. We have a couple 12 inch square terrariums with Madagascar hissing cockroaches. I ordered a two pack of the small which were supposed to be 6 to 8 inches. The first piece is 9 x 9 x 4“ and the second piece is 10 x 8 x 3“.I’ve included pictures of both pieces. I soaked them overnight in a bucket of water so they are still drying but I am very pleased with both pieces. They are bigger than expected but still will fit the terrariums that we have. It’s going to look very cool!
