Ran good and was simple to put together. Can you tell me if the welds on the pipes used lead free solder? I got my still delivered today and the welds inside the pipes are messy and sloppy, doesn’t effort the clamps at all, just concerned if all the solder joints had any lead in them? Also the brass flow valves for the shotgun condenser, did you use lead free brass in those fittings?

I bought the 20L version of this, just FYI I think it's closer to 19 in volume, but I wouldn't run it with more than 15L anyway so no big deal. I wanted a base with a big copper alembic to start to customize a modular setup on and this has so been good for that, at least for me.As another review said there are no instructions, but I would say if you don't know much about setting up and running a pot still you should get on youtube and watch a ton of videos. All of this will be self explanatory after that. If you want a fairly nice pot still that you can run out of the box, or a start point to build off I think this is a fair option and pretty good value. Especially if you want a big copper dome. Just sourcing one of those and a pot that it fits on can cost more than this whole setup, so getting the product condenser and other stuff is pretty good value in my opinion.I put on a 1.5" to 2" adapter so I could add a sight glass and some 2" copper and it all runs well. I'm planning to add a dephlag and some plates down the road, which is the nice part about starting modular, you have all the control. There was a comment about the water pump not fitting the hoses, it does, but you need to dig around in the box and find the adapters, put the right one on and it works fine. It is a cheap pump, but it works for now.The included false bottom is uselessly thin, that's the only part I was really disappointed in. I would rather it just not be included vs be so thin as to be unusable. I never intended to mash in this anyway, so it's not a big issue for me, but I would say don't plan on that part being in any way usable.I do wish this had a drain spout on the pot, if they ever make a larger pot that fits this dome I hope they add that as an option.

As one review says, there are no instructions. That could be tough for someone who hasn't run a still before, it ran perfectly fine for me. My major complaint is that the water pump does not fit the pump fitting they provided, and it also won't fit directly to the tubing. I was able to use an old pump but it would be nice to have the extra. Also, it would be best to have the thermometer at the top of the head rather than the dome

Artisan gins and their like have come to dominate the hipster marketplace over the past few years, and more people have taken to concocting their own alcoholic drinks.Apart from the actual ingredients, this shiningly attractive kit affords you the chance to make your own spirits and wines, allowing you to experiment with various infusions. Our first batch hasn’t yet reached the drinkable stage, but with a bit of online research and tuition providing us with the know how, we’re happily looking forward (or not) to producing our first drinks soon.Everything’s straightforward, the kit itself is gleaming - if a tad expensive - so fingers crossed that our first flavoured vodka is more Absolut than Absolutely Awful.

For something costing almost £300, you'd expect it come with some sort of instructions... But... This came without any. Rendering it almost useless...
