THIS IS MY SECOND HOMOGENIZER LIKE THIS. MY 1ST ONE LASTED 4.5 YEARS WITH MUCH USE. I GOT ONE FOR $2800 FROM AN AMERICAN COMPANY THINKING THEY WOULD STAND BEHIND THE MACHINE BETTER. (I HAD TO GET EXTRA ASSERTIVE WITH THEM TO TAKE IT BACK, SO THAT WAS A MISCONCEPTION ON MY PART. AND IT SHIPPED DIRECTLY FROM CHINA ANYWAY.) THE PROBLEM WAS THAT THEY ONLY OFFERED A MACHINE THAT WENT FROM 0 TO 10,000 RPM IN 3 SECONDS. THAT MADE MY LIQUIDS SPLASH ALL OVER THE PLACE. THIS MACHINE STARTS AT 1000 RPM ALLOWING ME TO GRADUALLY INCREASE THE SPEED AS MY MEDIUM THICKENS. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICTURE, I HAD TO REMOVE THE SCREW TO THE TIGHTENING LEVER WITH A 3/32 ALLEN WRENCH AND REPOSITION IT SO THAT IT WOULD NOT BLOCK THE PATH FOR THE 2 SUPPORT BARS. ONCE THE SCREW IS OUT, THE LEVER CAN BE POSITIONED GOING DOWNWARD INSTEAD OF UPWARD. PIC 2 SHOWS THE SCREW AND THE LEVER REPOSITIONED. I SAVED $1000 AND GOT A MACHINE I REALLY LIKE. HOWEVER, I READ A REVIEW SAYING THE MACHINE STOPPED WORKING AFTER 6 MONTHS AND THEY WOULDN'T REPLACE IT, SO I GOT THE PROTECTION INSURANCE.
