I’ve been purchasing this product on here for a couple of years for my green cheek conure and he loves shredding them. Unfortunately the last two packages I’ve ordered were off color and he wouldn’t touch them. Instead he started feather picking. Upon reading other reviews of this product I find they were in fact moldy and shouldn’t be sold or used. I’ve thrown them all out and will no longer buy them through Amazon.

My bird loves to tear these up, it makes a mess but it helps her to not pick herself and she appears to really enjoy them.

My birds love these. I bought to make toys with but they are happy just having them as foot toys.

I love these. The amount you get for the price is great. These are not durable at all-- but in a good way! My birds LOVE how soft the wood is. I'm able to push safflower seeds right into it and my guys love shredding them to get the treats. You can add the chunks to make whole toys or just offer them as foot toys for big birds. My sun conure likes chewing on them in my lap while I play on my phone.Just one suggestion for the seller: since these are prone to mold, especially during shipping, can you add a silica gel packet?

Our senior Patagonian loves to chew but his beak doesn't have the juice it once did so these are perfect for him. We were looking for something stronger than balsa but softer than pine and these are a nice compromise.

My birds have always loved bird kabobs! However, a review left by a fellow bird owner stated her bird got tangled in the rope that bird kabobs are strung onto! For safety reasons, I decided to try the chips. My birds LOVE the chips! They pull them out of their coconuts and carry them around to shred them! Will be sticking with these and will be ordering again!

My parrots love shredding these slices. They are very soft so I often push sunflower seeds into the wood as easy foraging.

These are a great addition to any DIY parrot toy, or just to use singly as foot toys. The unusual texture, falling somewhere in-between the pine blocks and the cardboard I use in my toys, is one that all the parrots in my rescue find interesting and quite engaging. It seems especially attractive to feather-pluckers, and is a wonderful way for them to spend some shedding something other than their feathers!

Because these slices are so big I cut them into quarters and thread them on to a long bolt to make a perch out of them. There are so many slices in the bag that doing it this way means they'll last for ages! My tiny parrotlet enjoys destroying these so much I think they are worth every penny, so does he!

I wanted to write a review to provide information I was lacking when I purchased this item. I ordered these along with original size because I wanted to see which would be the most bang for my buck. I wasn't sure how large the bag would be or what would be involved in stringing them to hang in the cage.As to the first matter, the bag contains much more material than the toy about twice as much. The pieces are also larger, ranging from 2"-3" in diameter, whereas the toy discs are about 1-1/2" in diameter. Pieces in this package have a harder shell on the outside of the ring, so it takes a bit more time to shred them.As to the second matter, turns out they are very easy to string. Most of them seemed to have a hole in them already ideal for stringing. For those that did not, these things are VERY porous and come apart almost as easily as Styrofoam packaging peanuts, so a hole can be added using a toothpick, a pencil, or any number of readily available household items.Didn't realize how bored our lovebird was until we put the kabob toy into her cage and she shredded it in a few days. I think these in the package will last a little longer because of the harder shell on the outside. Overall, great product, and it's made of a type of cactus, so no worries about ingesting chemicals.
