I got these for my husband, and he said the knee pads fit well and are an addition for extra cushion under his plastic velcro strap knee pads. On their own, they are not enough padding to cushion the stress that his knees endure while he’s using them in the garden or doing projects around the house that require him to be on his knees. They help with compression in his knee area, and with other added knee pads, help save his knees from the pain of putting pressure on them. They fit well and look good, but minus one star for not being that effective on their own, since they are a little thin.

I wore one of the knee pads for about 7 hours after it was delivered this afternoon, and it was so comfortable that I forgot that I had it on until I got a prompt to write the review!Knee Pads have come a long way since I was wearing them for protection during my High School Basketball days! They used to be so uncomfortable that a person couldn't wait to take them off at the end of the game.This product not only protect your knees, but they also apply gentle compression to the knee. Having had ACL surgery during the infancy days of that surgery back in 1980, the surgery did a tremendous job until the knee started loosening after 35 years. Now the knee can use a little stabilizationThis product does a good job of stabilizing the knee and If all goes well I might be able to put off Knee Replacement Surgery for another couple of years!

While they're not as protective as the hard shell ones, there is certainly enough padding to stave off pretty much any impact barring the hard crashes that may involve physical elements like pipes and rails; the much more common small-scale crashes are where/when these are designed to serve, and I'm confident they will. The skater chick I got these for is stoked on them and she too is confident they're going to help a lot. The overall base material is on the thin side to allow for breathability, that's about the only concern I may have, the lifespan may shorter than expected - but that's okay as long as they do the job for their duration. Time and use will tell the tale eventually, I'll update/edit this if the need arises.
