incredibly robust wire wheel cylinder! this thing is super stiff and strong, it will take off any kind of paint from metal or concrete and really weather the grain in wood and softer materials. Great wire brush wheel!

This wheel is heavy. The wire twists are tight, and even though you still get the random poke when you pick it up, it's not bad at all. It's perfect for aggressive removal of material, such as heavy rust that's starting to flake. The product page shows a good example of the type of things this is good for (the fifth picture down). This is not what you want to use for a final finish. Another good use for it is removal of multiple layers of paint when reclaiming wood or refinishing something metal, but use a mask. Also, pay attention to the dimensions. There are two major sizes of surface conditioning tools out there, a DIY-type one that's widespread, and a heavy duty, expensive, commercial one. All wheels do not fit on all tools, even though they're similar size and look identical. But if your tool can handle this thing, it's great and last for a long time.
