Got this for a gift for my 11y/o kid. He's a bit introverted, kinda nerdy. The family had great fun trying to figure out the puzzles without Googling the solutions. Star off because the casting and fitment is a bit rough in places. For the price, I wasn't expecting perfection, and neither should you. He likes taking a different one to school each day for his classmates to figure out. He is turning into the popular nerd now, if there is such a thing, and really enjoying stretching the excitement of this gift out.

I was kind of surprised to find this puzzle set, and was really skeptical about it given that you get 48 for this price. I have only tried a few, but they seem easy to solve, and mostly easy to manipulate. The only issue I've found is that some of the pieces appear to be machine stamped which leaves a hard seam on the side. That seam has caused problems maneuvering some of the pieces to solve. They can still be solved, but you have to work a little at it to make it happen. That's the only drawback I've found with this. The fact that they're metal is a huge plus - there's less room for damage. They are relatively easy to solve, so these would be good for beginners or as fidgets for more experienced people. Definitely two thumbs up from me!

If you're like me then you stumbled upon this product because you enjoy Hanayama cast metal puzzles. Hanayama brand puzzles are high-quality and a great product. I own and enjoy several of them. They run between $10 and $20 each typically, so naturally seeing this bundle of 48 puzzles for about $50 seemed like a great bargain. I think most of them are fine little puzzles but you should be aware of the following items: first they are smaller than the Hanayama puzzles (see photo comparing some to original Hanayamas), and second they are obviously lower quality. There are visible protruding seams, and there's paint or coating that flecks off on some. With some, the quality difference is minimal and doesn't affect the usability too much, but others are worse offenders. NEWS is probably the worst as the two pieces are loose, they rattle, and you can see the "hidden" pins.Overall it's not a horrible bundle for the money, but it's definitely not a bargain. For the money, I'd rather have 4-5 original Hanayama puzzles than this huge bundle of cheaper, miniature knock-offs.

I was nervous for whatever reason that I would be missing a puzzle yet I got the number as advertised and am very pleased with the packaging and variety. These should prove to be entertaining for some time. Highly recommend!

I'm using these metal puzzles in small advent calendar drawers for our Christmas countdown. They are the perfect "small" gift to put in the drawers - as they are fun puzzles for kids and for adults. I'm putting two puzzles into each of the 24 drawers, so when my family opens the advent calendar each day, there will be two puzzles to solve and have fun with. The puzzles are made well. The metal is heavy-duty - and heavy. Definitely strong enough to hold their shape. I like that there is a variety of metal finishes - bronze, antique gold, silver and shiny gold. The finishes make the pieces look more interesting. The quality of metal is MUCH better than I was expecting! The shapes and puzzle styles are all different, and are not the standard metal puzzles you typically see. The designs are more intricate and the puzzles are more challenging than other metal puzzles we've seen. There are no puzzle solutions included with this set. There are a few solutions in the photos of the item description, but that doesn't cover all the puzzles. The puzzles aren't impossible to solve, so not having a solution sheet might not be that big of an issue. And... having a solution sheet would take away the fun of solving a puzzle, right?!At $50 for the set, each puzzle is around $1. This might seem high, but when you look at other simple metal puzzles that are similar, this price isn't that bad - especially since the puzzle pieces are all different and the metal is such good quality. Each puzzle is packaged individually in a plastic bag, so all the pieces are together. I appreciate that.Overall, I am very happy with the quality and styles of the puzzles. They are going to be fun to use in our advent calendar.
