The drill bit is wobbling when drilling, so the hole diameter is elongated. Wish I knew this earlier so I could have returned it for a refund. ☹️

I've used this to drill holes in double stacked 4x4s, to mix 5 gallon batches of self leveling cement, and other small things like that. Nothing has fallen off or started rattling, so I'm not sure what the other reviewers are doing wrong.

Early Bosch drills need a chuck with a shoulder on the shank end to prevent the chuck hitting the body when using the hammer function. This chucks fits perfectly, but beware I did need to use a slightly longer LH locking screw, luckily I had some extra long LH screws on hand and could shorten one to be about 1/4" longer than the screw supplied with the SDS adapter. I didn't make use of the SDS adapter.

I have an old Bosch SDS-plus hammer drill. Not a lot of attachments for it. Everything is SDS-max these days. But I got this adaptor and found this plate compactor: Bon 21-469 Tamper Head for Hammer Drill Aluminum Head. So far it has held up well to my intended use. Now I can use the hammer function with the tamper head to compact and level gravel in a trench that I'm laying for a retaining wall base.

The chuck on this unit is of impressive quality but the chuck is held onto the sleeve by a weak screw. The screw snapped in half and the chuck fell off of the drill withing 10 seconds of my first use. My guess is that the hammer drills are simply too powerful so you must buy an actual bit for any real project. Don't waste your time or money on this tool.
