Cost effective and definitely a potential retro option for 04-05 Priuses, to upgrade from D2R. Time will tell performance quality over time.

When installing in a 2012 Toyota Venza I did have to swap over the old power cord, partly to keep the rubber plug that seals the hole in the lens and partly because the included power adapter is incorrect for this car. Otherwise installation was as easy as a job that requires you to remove a headlight assembly in a modern vehicle can be. Bulb is a cheap style HID that looked like it had already been powered on for a couple hours there was some milky pitting in the swelled area the arc forms in. But as I had a bad ballast I needed to swap it out, and the bulb I'd installed last month is still available if I need to switch back.The socket that this has seems to be about as good as the factory one, it clipped tightly onto the back of the bulb and so far they're working great.
