I got two of these, one I never unwrapped because of the way the other was. They said it would bind up, and it did. I had to use Vice-grips to get the thing off my very expensive ND8/CPL. Actually had a moment of panic. Tried the hot-water thermal expansion trick, no go. Lubricated with dish detergent, nope. What gets me is that I was careful not to over-tighten the thing, as I always am with filters, precisely to avoid this problem. Return! Return! Return!

The very first time I tried to use this step-up ring, the filter got extremely stuck. I hadn't even fully tightened the filter, but it still somehow got stuck. This was a filter I had used many times before on other lenses without any issue at all, so the issue was clearly with the step-up ring.I didn't have a filter wrench with me, but I don't know if it would have made a difference. I tried putting the filter on ice (to get the metal to contract), tried the rubber band trick, tried using rubber gloves with grippers. Nothing worked, it was as if the filter had been super glued to the ring.After several hours and a blister later, I gave up - it was still usable, but only with the one lens that the step-up ring fit. Unfortunately, I couldn't use it at all several times that I really wanted to with another lens.I'm giving this two stars because about a week later, inexplicably, the filter came off without any effort at all. I used the step-up ring with a few other filters after this, but only screwed them on part way out of concern that they too could get stuck.

I got the LUŽID Brass 72mm to 82mm, and could immediately tell that this was more solid and well built than the aluminum 'el cheapos'. I've only screwed around with it for a short while... but I have encountered no issues with sticking thus far. It's worth upgrading from aluminum to brass, and at this price point, it runs rings around the competition.Oh! I bought this with my own money, and nobody dun paid me nuthin' to write this here review.

Exactly what I'm looking for. I want some step up rings to use my filter on smaller lenses, but don't want to spend $30 a ring. This ring is great. The price is reasonable and quality is great. The ring is smooth on filter and lens filter thread, and doesn't stick.

Fits perfectly on my Fuji 10-24 f4. Feel very smooth. Very easy to turn. No issue with sticking so far. I'm glad I took a chance by trying this unknown brand. Price is great for such high quality ring.
