I haven't had the battery long enough to tell if it is really any good, but it appeared to be a match for the OEM battery in my 1st gen Ring. It came with plenty of tools for opening the Ring--you have to remove screws and pry off the metal doorbell button wrapper--this took most of the time, but there are some YT videos which show you how to do it. I did have a bit of wierdness with the battery connector--it is small and hard to seat if you are bi-focalled like me. And it may have come loose after reassembly, as the Ring stopped working when I reinstalled it at the front door. I opened it up again and fiddled around and finally got the Ring working. In fact, my problem may not have been with the original battery, itself--just a loose connection somewhere--but it's too late now. Time will tell how the battery lasts. I'll try to update someday, but of course by then, this vendor probably won't be offering it.

The 1st battery did not work but the 2nd fixed it. A great Amazon experience.

* UPDATE.This battery lasted only a few months before it started to fail. The charging is taking longer now and it lasts about 1/3 what it did when new. 4/10/2024.End of Update.Bought this for our old original ring doorbell. This is the original doorbell so it's pretty old but still going strong. I hate when things have simple issues that I can fix myself like dead batteries so I tend to repair things rather than toss out good tech.There are videos on major sites that show you how to do this swap. It's not hard for most folks to do. Just go slow and do it right. Our doorbell has been staying charged now with the solar panel, like it should but wasn't with the old dying battery for months now. Good stuff.

I hope you get the battery in the box. 1st package had no battery. I ordered a second one, and requested a refund for the 1st. How am I supposed to send the product back if nothing was in the box but the cheap screwdrivers?? I attempted to change out the battery in my ring doorbell, but gave up as it was way too complicated and the screwdrivers are not color coded or labeled. Now I’m out 35 bucks and still have the same battery in my doorbell. Don’t waste your money.
