I bought a new-to-me refrigerator and when I hooked up the ice maker, the valve in the back was cracked and leaking water. This valve was super easy to swap out. 1 hex screw and 2 plugs was all that was connected. I swapped over the water lines and now my ice maker is back up and running. I would say it took about 7 minutes to replace this part. I’m super happy with the functionality of this replacement part, works as good as original. For the excellent price it just can’t be beat. I have a GE Profile Arctica side by side fridge.

The fit is identical to OEM, easy to install, this one does not come with the plastic shield of the OEM part.Works good so far. OEM lasted 18 years....hopefully this will last just as long!

I went thru a few exchanges of these valves before discovering that my problem was intermittent freeze-up of the plastic tubing that supplies my water dispenser on a GE Profile side-by-side refrigerator/freezer. Solution was to follow a thaw/unplugging procedure and then, longer term, to raise the freezer temperature about 3 degrees F.

This has been a great replacement part that is working perfectly. I recommend this if you need a new water valve. Easy DIY replacement.

This product fits exactly in my GE refrigerator, and solved the problem, where the water dispenser was dripping or leaking depending on how you want to describe it. And that dripping tends to vary depending on the water pressure. Essentially the spring tension at the valve controlling the water dispenser has become weak--20+ years--, and apparently was not closed shut when not activated.Replacement was easy, as others have described. It takes about 15 minutes to remove and replace the old valve.
