It ended up being my primary call due to the quality of the sound it produced. Also it needs far less maintenance than the cheaper calls. If you are a serious turkey hunter this call is well worth the cost.

Let me preface this by saying I have 30+ years of turkey hunting experience. I know what a good call sounds like and know how to run pot calls. I also have a Woodhaven glass call that I use often and am impressed by.The call had a good fit and finish. They include 2 strikers, a cover and a conditioning kit. All extra bonuses.The issue is that it had a very poor sound. I'm not sure if the soundboard was glued wrong or if it was damaged in shipping. There were no loose parts, but the sound was hollow and boxy sounding. I literally tried every square cm of the call and only found one spot about the size of a pea that sounded decent. A call in this category should have more playing surface than this. So, I returned it and labeled it as broken because I honestly think that is the issue.

This is an amazing slate call that is very versatile. The great surface combined with 2 different strikers allow you to vary pitch as well as giving quality sound from loud yelps to quiet purrs. With a little practice before the season I was very confident in the calls ability to give me whatever sound I needed. This was my first purchase from Woodhaven, but it will not be my last.
