It’s easy to put together and is wood (I expected it would be, I was happy to be correct). Came with a set of hooks rolling around loosely in the box, but nothing seems damaged. I now have even more of the plastic safety pins to add to my steadily growing collection (I swear I’m never going to run out).Tested the magnet with a skein of yarn, and it seems to be staying in place so that’s good. I usually use center pull yarn because cats, but this should let me mostly avoid feline interference too. I like the idea of being able to have a home for my hooks that is also easily accessible too. Should help keep my side table tidier.I have seen other things that match parts of what this does, but this is the first I found that does all of it. If you can afford it, it seems worth it.

I love this yarn holder. It comes with a full set of crochet hooks. Although it doesn't have the smaller set I use for crocheting doilies, it is a really nice bonus. It also has needles and the little thread tabs. It helps keep the thread off the floor, although my cat still attacks it. I am hoping that he calms down as he gets used to seeing it. I haven't tried yarn balls with it, but I have a bowl that works for projects such as blankets, etc. I enjoy using thread to make doilies, ornaments, table runners, and other fine thread projects. This was easy to put together, is made well, and is worth the cost. It is functional and perfect for what I want to make.

This is far better than I thought it would be!The yarn holder took less than 5 minutes to assemble. It went together very easily. The wood parts are beautifully finished - smooth and splinter-free. A small Phillips screwdriver is included. The assembled item is very attractive to look at.The spool is magnetic. It spins easily and holds a surprising amount of yarn - up to and including a full skein of my go-to Red Heart Super Saver. Crocheting a project is now a breeze! No more tugging yarn out of the center of a pull skein that just might produce that bane of knitters and crocheters everywhere, a tangle of "yarn barf". It also keeps the yarn confined, so I don't have to chase a runaway ball around the living room.The yarn holder also incorporates a holder for the crochet hooks, etc. and a stand for a phone or small tablet.The set includes 14 metric-sized metal crochet hooks ranging from 2 - 10 mm in diameter, 11 metal yarn needles in a handy storage tube, and 15 stitch markers.While I intend to use and enjoy this one myself, I'm seriously considering buying another as a gift for a friend who crochets.

I have been wanting one of these for a while now, but kept dragging my feet.I tried “life hack” versions and they just were not the same.I saw this one and was very excited to give it a try.The base is larger and has nice weight to it. The cup is perfect for holding pens and hooks and snips.The little ridge in the front perfect for holding the screen you are using to watch a video or display a pattern.It is super easy to assemble and comes with all the parts and tools you need.The price point is good compared to similar products.The material is high quality real wood and not wood-like or pressed wood.The magnet is strong but the spinning is smooth and easy to use.I am so excited to up my yarn game.

This yarn holder is surprisingly well made. It required some assembly, but just 3 screws. A small screwdriver is included. I'm not the best at putting things together but I was able to do this easily.The yarn holder part will hold a skein or ball up to about 8" through the center, so that accommodates most common sizes. The magnet that holds it in place works well. I was not sure about that when I ordered it, but it's a good design.There's a little slot on the base that will hold a phone, in case you want to view video instructions while working on a project. There's a little wooden cup that serves as a safe resting place for crochet hooks, because we all know how those things disappear into the abyss when we have to go refill our glass.In addition to the yarn holder, there's also a set of 8 crochet hooks, an assortment of metal yarn needles in a plastic tube container, and some stitch holders included.I think this could make a welcome gift to a crocheter or anyone who works with yarn, especially with all the little extras included.

This is amazing! Super easy to put together and use. It really helps manage the yarn as I work, and spins easily. I'm also very happy that it came with lots of hooks and needles. However, the bag that the hooks were in split at the top and bottom. It was way too weak to hold all those hooks. If you have a place to keep your hooks, that won't matter to you, but I don't unless I buy or crochet one. That's been my only downside with this product, it's otherwise so handy!
