Ordered this wooden salad bowl set to have a large bowl for salads on the rare occasions we have guests for dinner, retiring the funky looking plastic bowl we had been using. The larger of the three bowls is perfect for that, and for popcorn, but I’m finding all the bowls are attractive and able to serve multiple uses. We currently have the large one serving as a de facto tea storage place and the middle-sized one out on the table to corral keys and knickknacks, etc. They’re so attractive, with lovely patterns in the wood, they look good anywhere. The bowls arrived in great shape but a little dry, so I immediately gave them a good treatment in some food grade mineral oil which really brought out the shine. Almost time to do it again. The design, with a wave around the edge, gives them a unique and elegant profile, and — given that there are three of them — they have a good range of capacities. So far, very easy to clean — by hand only — and durable. Would make a great housewarming gift or a gift for anyone who needs to uplevel their salad bowl experience or would appreciate adding a little rustic elegance to their decor. Good quality for the price.

This is a beautiful salad bowl. I'm not sure if I put it in the dishwasher but it cracked, still able to use it. Says not to put it in the dishwasher but dish happens.

I was a bit worried about this product, when I opened the amazon package, there was no seal on the box that contained the bowl, the box was not closed, and the lid was damaged. But after unwrapping the bowl and examining it, the only damage I found was on the bottom. There are several scratches, I don't think this happened in the box, as that side had no damage. This damage seems to be very cosmetic, and as the scratches are on the bottom they will not affect the product at all.The bowl itself is gorgeous! I love that there is a good amount of color diversity in the wood tones, it gives the bowl such character and is very eye catching. The wave is also soft and has a lovely organic feeling. The slats on the sides of the bowl are well fitted together and I cannot find any gaps or splits. I'm very familiar with wooden dishes and will certainly update the review if this seems to split with normal and appropriate use and washing. There does appear to be a thin layer of mineral oil, as it is sanded and has some sort of finishing on it. I appreciate that the company did also include a brief yet complete set of instructions for use and care. I did not need this, but others probably will, and I can confirm the advice is accurate. The dimensions are also accurate as listed in the posting. As there was no obvious or sever damage to the bowl, I am not deducting any stars. This is indeed a high-quality wooden bowl that will look lovely on anyone's counter for (hopefully) years to come. I've seen bowls of similar thickness and style being sold at craft fares for $75+, so for only $25 (not including the coupons currently available) this is absolutely a steal, and I would recommend this to all my wood-loving friends! I will also be getting another bowl as a housewarming gift for a friend about to move too.

Every home cook knows the importance of a well stocked kitchen. This also includes using the right bowls for mixing, prepping, and serving certain foods. A mixed green salad is best prepped and served in a wooden bowl. Not only is wood practical and durable, but it's not reactive to acidic ingredients that are typically found in a traditional green salad, which means it doesn't alter the taste the way some metal or plastic bowls do.I've gone through many wooden salad bowls in my life, and I think I've found the perfect wooden salad bowl with this one by the Woodenhouse company! To start, this is the perfect size bowl to not only serve with, but to use for prepping and mixing. It's about 12 inche in diameter, with a sophisticated oval shape, and it doesn't take up too much space on your counter or table. But it's still a nicely sized bowl as it's quite deep, and can hold about 24 ounces of salad greens. The wood is lightweight and smooth, not to mention aesthetically pleasing. It's elegant and classic with its artistic simplicity, making it a timeless piece to add to your kitchen collection.Like most wooden bowls this one is not safe for the dishwasher. But it cleans up beautifully in the sink with a mild detergent. I haven't had to season it with a wood seasoning oil yet, even after multiple uses and washes. That's not to say I won't find the need to do so in the future, but so far maintainance has been a breeze. This Wooden Salad Bowl is the perfect hostess gift, wedding gift, or something to gift to yourself. The low price, high quality craftsmanship, functionality, and easy maintenance make it an incredible value. I highly recommend it!
