The trimmer body is a solid block of aluminum which feels heavy and very solid in the hand. Its proportions of 2” x 4” are very good for avoiding hand cramping due to having to maintain a tight grip on too small of a tool, or being over stretched because it’s just too large. The finish on it appears to be black powder coating which should be durable.The cutter blade is adjustable and held in place by a nylon washer and a brass thumbscrew. It measures 3/32” (.093) thick, so it won’t deform under pressure. It has enough meat in the blade to withstand repeated sharpenings.One drawback was that the blade already had several rust pockmarks on both sides which needed to be removed. The blade could benefit from a little touch-up with a fine oil stone or diamond stone to clear that burr on the leading edge. Other than that it was ready for work.The trimmer cuts left-to-right. With this design, you do have to pay attention to the grain direction on wood veneer edging when you are applying it since the tool is not bidirectional. This assumes the wooden edge banding is applied with one edge flush and you’re not faced with trimming both edges.Tried trimming some veneer on shelving made for a bookcase and it worked just fine, cleanly shearing off the excess. A short piece of white PVC edging was ironed a melamine scrap shelf and it trimmer that up nice and neat.This is a solid little tool and can be recommended, if you accept its limitations, or primarily do PVC edging.

Pro-Easy to use-Rugged buildCons-can't change direction*-could have designed it to use more ubiquitous blades*why is that important= if you are using wood veneer as edging, sometimes you get into the grain and it splits if the grain is going away from the blade in the cutting direction, you should be able to change direction , and cut into the grain as it rises in cutting direction.
