This was my daughter’s first pair of grips. She competes Xcel gold. The monofilament (yes, it’s fishing line) that holds the dowel on the leather snapped less in than 3 weeks. Of course this happened 3 days before she goes to a 4 day gymnastics camp. So now she will be starting over breaking in a new pair. Definitely recommend a pair where the dowel is encapsulated in leather. These are not.

They took a bit to break in, but work fine. My daughter is a Level 8 gymnast and her grips went missing. Ordered these to get her through the rest of the competition season and they did the job.
