It has push-button zeroing capability at any point.

From the Manufacturer

This digital readout kit is ideal for router lifts. The WR525 is a kit that can be adapted to a number of woodworking machines, including router lifts, router tables, and shapers. It has a remote display connected with a 3 foot cord that can be disconnected for easy installation and access. The easy to install kit requires drilling 2 small holes in your machine using the drill bit supplied. Mounting hardware is included and fits router lifts made by Woodpeckers, Jessem, Jointech, and others. The large easy to read display reads in inches with fractions or millimeters. The fractions are displayed using "Precise Fraction Technology" which gives you 4 times the accuracy of other fraction readouts.

I added the scale to a incra router lift. It works really well for incremental measurements. It uses normal button batteries but I found you can’t use the lithium variety as the display screws up.

My first Wixey product was their "angle cube" that I purchased several years ago and found it indispensable at my table saw. Not too long ago I put a Wixey DRO on my DeWalt thickness planer and love it so when I recently built a new router table I went looking at Wixey products to equip my new JessEM Mast-R-Lift with a DRO. Unlike the DRO for my thickness planer, this unit is much more generic, as it can be used across many different lifts, however as a result, may require some ingenuity to interface with your particular lift, perhaps requiring some drilling, but the instructions are pretty clear on what needs to be done, so I wouldn't let that stop me.That said, I have a 3D printer and printed mounting points that interface directly with my particular lift and table, so installation was a breeze. The DRO works great and while I haven't spent a lot of time with it, I think it will really be a useful addition to my new router workstation.

I use the wixley remote readout on my router lift.It saves a lot of time and tedium. The instructionsare not very good but I’m glad I bought it.

I was sorry to see that it was not compatible with my router table.

This works very well. Was easy to install, just drill two holes. It is very flexible as far as installation options so you should be able to adapt this to just about any router lift out there. Once installed it seems to work fantastic. Very easy to shift your router up or down any exact amount without having to eyeball a ruler, count revolutions, or grab your height gauge. Also allows you to know if you are actually moving the router, or simply taking up back lash.

I bought this to add to a Incra Router-Lift (Made by Jessem). Installation went OK, the drill bit they give you is not very good, but I had others for drilling aluminum. Once installed it works OK, not great. It seems to jump a little when moving the router up and down and takes a few tries to get back to a specific setting. This is replacing an old SmartLift Routerlift that failed. It used a measuring rod similar to Wixey but was way more accurate and repeatable. It was made by Accurate technologies. Too bad we could not get the Jessem Router lift with the Accurate Technologies digital measuring gauge. The Accurate was 3 times the cost of the Wixey though.

Product works perfectly five star for sure, just make sure your lift has little or no backlash otherwise the unit is a bit challenging to use. My Woodpecker lift is well worn so I always approach my desired bit height by lowering the bit well below the desired height and tune it in by lifting. This way gravity keeps the backlash honest. The product works fine, it just does not make up for the short comings of the worn lift. Barry in customer service is a pleasure to work with.

Even with all the negative reviews about this unit being unstable, I took a chance. I have worked on this for 2 days now and have not been able to get it to read steady. No router, just mounted on the lift. I zeroed it at the bottom of the lift and tried several different mountings. How this unit can always show "0" at the bottom every time and not perform this way throughout the setting tests is astounding. I cleaned the bar, cleaned the sensor rails to no effect, changed the batteries several times and no effect. My JessEm Router lift is spot on so will send this back to Amazon. Useless--I even used a hand held 6" digital caliper and it was spot on both directions. I do not recommend this reader and will certainly not purchase another Wixey unit. Sad that Wixey has botched this unit. Thanks to all who posted reviews; even those that got lucky with a good one :-).

I installed this digital readout on a Rockler router lift. At first, I wasn't sure of the correct location to mount the unit on the lift due to the design of the lift. Once I decided where I would try it, everything worked very well. Now it is easy to know just how much I have moved the router bit and reduces the amount of adjusting needed.

I mounted the WR525 on a for a custom router table. I haven't had the meter for more than a day so I can't speak for it's long term durability. What I can say it is more accurate than the height indicator on the Masterlift. A quick test was setting the depth of cut for some dovetails. Previously, I had used both a and the Masterlift dial indicator, but it still took a couple test cuts before getting perfect dovetails. With the WR525, I hit the perfect height first time and made perfect dovetails. The second test was running some dados for a 3/4" X 3/8" Rockler T-Track. Again, I got the perfect depth of cut the first time. Some issues though. The sensing unit seems to be very sensitive to vibration and losses its height orientation quickly, sometimes by just turning on the router. This is a problem if you want to make a series of mill passes before reaching your target depth. Also, if your table is as large as mine, the cable from the sensing unit to the display will be too short. Fortunately, the WR525 uses a standard Cat5 computer data cable. A Cat5 coupler and a patch cord solved this problem and give me a quick disconnect. In spite of the vibration related idiosyncrasies, for me, the WR525 was worth the money by improving production time.

I love this Wixey WR525 Remote Digital Readout, this makes routing even more fun and a lot easier to log bit heights for those projects that are made often, it even comes with two batteries. This is a very nice addition to any router lift. Be very careful when drilling your router lift, or maybe you're like me and own a which already comes pre-drilled for this product.
