Luckily I did not installed this item, the filter neck was cracked, the shipping box was not mangle, so hard for me to explain why....also after a the verifications I performed on the WIX web site to verify this was the correct part for my 2011 Ram 5.7 Hemi Big Horn 2 wheel drive short transmission pan , this item looks differently than the one I removed, wider...i tried to put the pan on and it wouldnot seat flush with this filter on....the one i got from at O'Reilly's fit fine....never again will i buy this online.... no guarantee it will fit or if it will arrive undamaged.Update : after calling WIX I was informed that I had ordered the correct part number for my truck.....I was also informed that WIX does not sell any of their products on Amazon, only thru car part retailers, like O'Reilly's....I guess that explains why the part I bought locally fits while the one I received did not, according to their sales personnel mist likely not a WIX product. Also pay close attention to the refill directions on your dip stick, I put 4 quarts until i hit the cold indication on the dip stick, then drove around until I hit 180 degrees, then with the truck in neutral I filled to half way point, which it's what the dip stick instructions say, also added two tubes of TransFix....shifts great.Good luck and make sure you know what you are doing. It can get expensive quick !

Perfect fit and easy to install just had a little trouble with the seating of the gasket on the neck of the filter. Everything else was as represented. Bolt holes lined up and they held the pan bolts perfectly for me to hand tighten them all before snugging it’s down

Package arrived within 24 hours and in good condition. Everything looks to be as it should and the cost was a fraction of the competitors' prices. There was one cheaper brand out there by about 33% less, but I did not recognize them and have used Felpro gaskets for a very long time. They're nothing fancy, but they work as they're supposed to every single time. I have never had an issue with quality interfering with performance, so I really have no reason for switching brands at this point.I like to use a thin sheet of gasket sealer to stick the gasket to the pan before installing. Always make sure to scrape surfaces clean before applying any sealer or installing the gasket. It will leak if you don't. Also, I ordered a drain bolt kit from B&M to install on the pan for easier fluid changes.I'm one of those types that are always looking for the next mod.. upgrade.. high performance part.. but some things, like gaskets and fluids.. you're better off sticking to what you know works. For gaskets, that's Felpro.

If i could give this no stars i would. I have a Dodge Ram 1500, and i installed both filters while servicing my transmission. Truck was fine for a few days then the problems started. When i would put the truck in drive it would not go into gear. It took 5 seconds or more, then would die. Once the truck warmed up it was fine, but after sitting over night, and initial startup it did the same. I did some research, and found a thread of a guy having the same issues i was having using Wix Filters. As you can see in the picture, the seal for the flat filter will not seal properly, allowing all the fluid to just dump in the transmission not allowing the filter to function therefore choking out the transmission allowing it to stall. I have done this several times to this truck, and seated the seal to the transmission itself flush with the flange. I have always used Mopar kits, and never had an issue. Needless to say i had to take it back apart losing all my expensive fluid i just put in to put another Mopar kit in. I bought this kit because i thought Wix was a good brand. The box said made in China (go figure). Mopar kit made in USA. I don't usually write bad reviews but this is unacceptable, and has cost me twice as much due to a seal design flaw. I don't want someone else to make the same mistake i have. I will never buy another Wix product ever again after this experience.

This kit looked like original equipment quality. I didn't want to just use silicone sealer- and it turned out that the fluid was dripping for a long time - past the gasket surface- so there wasn't the problem of contaminating the the new silicone. I had to break the cross member loose and lower it to get to the back pan bolts. I chose this method rather than a flush because you get all the particles out of the pan. I didn't want to take a short cut with just a flush job- and still have the solenoids get clogged with debree. I would buy this again.
