This table is nice and heavy, but assembly is impossible on certain parts because the holes are not in the correct place! Don't buy unless you have a drill or tools laying around to fix what manufacturers fell short on.

Update on August 9, 2021:I finally turned my table into an awesome kitchen island with two stools. I bought a larger butcher block table top and just placed it on top. The weight of the wood block alone keeps it very sturdily on top of the table without moving at all. We love our “new” kitchen island so much that we eat on it more often than in the dining table, we even sit there just to chat or to read.Original review on December 7, 2016:Great piece of furniture! I haven't decided what it is going to be. I bought it as a kitchen island (what it is advertised as), but after I assembled it, I put my laptop on it to check my email for a second, and it's been a desk ever since. I do plan to use it eventually as a kitchen table/island with 2 stools that I can tuck under. The table "body" is made of solid wood. The drawers are made of wood and veneers. I love the color and the gloss on the finish. It feels sturdy and looks like I spent a lot more money on it.Assembly was straight forward. I am a small woman, and it took me like 35 minutes to put it together while watching a TV show. All I used was a Phillips screw driver, an Allen wrench that comes in the package, and pliers to hold the wrench while tightening the socket cap screws (I googled all the tool names :)

This is an okay piece of furniture for the money. It's really small; two people can't comfortably sit down at once. It was easy to put together, though, and looks good.

My mom had gotten me a huge microwave and my new apartment has a tiny kitchen. I searched and searched for a perfect piece that was affordable, sturdy enough for a heavy microwave plus a theater style popcorn popper. I finally decided to purchase this one. It was super easy to put together. It looks great and not cheap. It has held up wonderfully and the two drawers are a bonus.

This table is the perfect size to serve as an island in my kitchen. It is counter height and quite sturdy, and is a close enough match to my dark knotty pine cabinets to look very nice. I've used it as extra counter space when baking etc., and as a serving table for drinks and hors d'oeuvres when I have guests. Everyone likes to gather in the kitchen and this makes it possible. The drawers are handy storage for things like the shopping list, matches and toothpicks. My only complaint is that the table arrived with several scratches on the top, and that it continues to scratch quite easily. For now, I've colored the scratches with a brown Sharpie and they're virtually invisible unless you're looking for them. Also I always put a trivet or towel on the surface for hot items, since the top is essentially bare wood. I hope to purchase a protective tabletop at some point.

Ok, $95 bucks, what do you expect? It came out of the box with no scratches, etc. As usual, with these assemble it yourself, I use a strong glue, such as Liquid Nails, for the dowels and where the legs meet the table when I screw them together.. to avoid wobbliness, which is inevitable unless you use the glue (and they don't tell you about that). I find wood glue does not adhere well to the finish. Oh, I did have to re-drill one hole where the component would not go it..I was looking for a small testing desk for my office that matched my Cherry furniture. I took a chance on this as it was described as Walnut, but it does match the Cherry... same color. I knew before buying it that I would have to cut off about 4 inches from each leg, since it is the height of a kitchen island, and we needed desk height. The support rails were a good 6 inches off the ground, so we could easily cut the legs without interfering with assembling the rails. The drawer is a little flimsy, and I didn't do anything to reinforce it... just have to realize not to use it much or put heavy things in it. As long as you are willing to do a little reinforcement, this type of furniture looks great for the price The finish is nice and the top is solid. It does have some normal grain texture... good to know, but still works well for testing, etc.In sum, nice little table, and you need the following to build it (in my opinion): Phillips head screw driver, Strong Glue like Liquid Nails (not wood glue), a drill with large bits just in case, and an allen wrench bit is helpful if you don't want to screw the long screws in by hand with the tiny wrench they provide.

Received the table with broken and missing pieces. The instructions where not very clear on putting it together and if I had the some of the missing screws I could had matched them up with others at the local hardware store. For the price, the quality is ok and looks as though it would had been perfect for what I needed, if it just would had stood up with out falling apart.I returned it 4 weeks ago and I am still waiting a refund from Amazon.

Assembly is difficult. The nuts and bolts are too finely threaded. On assembly its almost impossible not to cross thread. Once you do that the nut is trashed and the soft metal of the bolt will strip at the hex when you try to undo it,I was 0 for three attempts. FWIW, I designed and built an 800 SQFT cedar deck without too much trouble. This table was beyond me though. The finish quality is fair. The draws are loose and wobbly.I think this will be the last time I try to buy to-be-assembled furniture on-line.
