This is the 3rd meter we've ordered over 12 years. We were fulltime in an rv for those years and they are accurate and easy to use. They last a few years then stop working, we just order a new one

I tried for many days to get my satellite aiming at the correct asimuth, as listed on my DirecTV receiver, but it wasn't until I bought this bad boy that I actually got the job done. It gives you real time signal strength so you can zero in on those pesky satellites. I'm on a ship that changes location quite frequently, and our dish requires adjustment depending on where we are. Although we have compasses on our ship, the only way to pick up an HD signal is if every transponder comes in above 80% signal strength, which is very hard to do without having real time feedback from a signal reader such as this one. Very pleased.

I purchased this item for use with our RV and direct TV in order to maintain connectivity to our satellite TV while camping out and roughing it if you will. This item allows predicting accurate signal strength when aiming the dish and locking onto a signal. The item arrived faster than expected in which case gave me more time to figure out how to use it in combination with the DVR receiver in setting up connectivity. The item was simple to use in that the signal strength immediately began registering strength which was a plus. Set up using this device was fast and simple. I have not used other products and only went off reviews and recommendations from others and this product. It has worked now several times and has not had any discrepancies to date.

Although it did arrive promptly, it didn't seem to work for me. When I notified the seller, they quickly sent out another one and gave me 30 days to return the broken one. I will write my review on the new satellite finder in a few weeks when i get a chance to test it out.

This thing is a waste of money! It worked the first time and then half worked the second time and then quit all together. Don't waste your $$ on this cheap piece of crap!!

plastic case, so its not isolated from interferences, but it gives a good signal level to align a satellite antenna.

Not exzactly as acuratye as I'd like - seems it finds satellites that I do not use and when the sat finder on the tv locks on, the WINNEGARD is silent? Additionally the fine tuning knob is way too sensitive.

The Winegard SF 1000 Satellite Finder allows you to find the satellite in seconds. When you find the signal, an audable alarm sounds instantaneously. Before getting the finder, the satellite reciever would take several seconds to respond and when you pass thru the signal, there was no indication. This device saves a lot of frustration.
