I liked the idea of removing corks easily, and without damaging them since I collect them. However, 50% of the times I have to go back to the classic bottle opener because after pumping the air the cork doesn't move at all...

We bought at least 4 or 5 of them now. 99% of the time it works great. We sometimes get a bottle where you pump like crazy, but air blows by the cork instead of pushing it out. It also doesn’t work well with fake plastic corks - too hard to push through. No need to pump or push too hard. Make sure to keep your thumb on the top when the cork is almost there, or it will head for the ceiling.

Every bottle I've tried to open with it, was like a bomb going off. It took dozens of pumps to get enough air pressure to get the corks to begin moving up and if you stopped pumping the cork stopped. I'm concerned of possibly rupturing the bottle so, I'm no longer using this opener.

I will never use a corkscrew opener again. Fantastic, had knife to cut seal, and six pumps and it’s open.

And it is a bit of a surprise when the cork pumps out. It varies with the cork and bottle, but you go one pump - nothing. Two pumps - nothing. Three pumps - you might see nothing or maybe a bit of movement. And then (usually) four pumps and POPShame this is probably not TSA legal for taking in the cabin. I'm always looking for a corkscrew that is OK for cabin baggage
