Adding a photo to help anyone looking for the wiring scheme. I used this with a WemosD1 to create a weather station. This is a simple optical encoder setup with 20 pulses per rev. If you're familiar with Arduino or simple microcontroller projects in general, this is a great easy to use anemometer.
