I did a franken-strat build using some spare parts and a body I found on a discount site. The bridge worked out fine. I had to enlarge the spring pocket in the body since it was a little too narrow to fit the spring retainer. Also needed to ream out a little width in the bar pocket as well. Not a fault of this bridge, just a little adjusting of the body. Fit fine after that and performs well. This is my second build with a trem, the first being a kit that included a trem bridge. This is much better than the included version. I am sure it is not up to snuff with the $100+ bridges, but that is not what I am about.

This review is for the WOV10:The allen saddle screws for intonation are too hard to move and wind up stripping both the screw and saddle. I couldn't get one screw out. Too much torque on these screws. Horrible design. I went with the Wilkinson WOV06 which is a standard trem bridge with the same exact measurements (same pivot points, string spacing, and block). Worked perfectly. Wilkinson should discontinue the WOV10.

This is my second Wilkinson tremolo. The first replaced a rusty one on a project guitar I rescued from a barn, and was the best conventional tremolo system I had, so when the chance came for another one, I thought I would upgrade my most modified guitar, which is in all black. I should have checked it more closely, because I ordered this in black to match, and it doesn't have the right kind of tremolo system to install on that guitar (which uses six screws instead of two). Luckily, since I am very nearly a guitar hoarder, I did have another guitar on which I could install it, and it is one of my oldest, so it could use the upgrade. I only wish I had checked a little more closely and gotten the chrome one. None of this is the tremolo's fault in any way, but a reminder to check your guitar to make sure it is the right kind before ordering. It will give that guitar a bit more character, I guess, along with a much improved tremolo system that no longer has stripped screws and worn edges on the tremolo. It was a great fit on that guitar (a '90s Epiphone Strat), just like the first Wilkinson tremolo was on my '90s Yamaha Pacifica. Installation was quite easy, and it turned out great just like the last one.

Hi Walt I just replace trees with Wilkins ins for the push in bar. So much handier than the screw in type and easier to adjust, remove, etc. good trem, great functionality.

I’ve seen the Wilkinson brand all over the guitar market. I’ve had some instruments with pickups and other types of bridges and I have to say I am extremely blown away with the quality of this trim bridge. The quality is top-notch and unit is hefty and solid.This was an exact fit for a cheaper Strat project. I’m working on. Installation is very easy and once assembled and set up correctly this bridge feels like 1 million bucks. Getting this bridge that has definitely changed my opinion on the Wilkinson brand and will definitely be looking at more of their parts in the future. Looks and sounds fantastic. 100% recommended!
