I gave this back pack to my 2 1/2 year old grandson to carry items to/from pre-school. The insulated front pocket is great for fresh snacks. Cute choices of material design.

Cute, durable backpack perfect for toddlers. Has held up for two preschool school years thus far. Is a little small for a full size school folder but the folder can still fit if you are fine with the folder edges curling down.

I honestly bought this wondering if it were too good to be true because the price was so reasonable. I am so pleased. I have twin sons so I bought two of them in different styles so I can remember whose backpack belongs to who. They have a very durable feel. They fit my four year olds perfect! They have a compartment in the front big enough for my sons lunch and the inside of the bag is big enough for a change of close and other supplies. I can also use them for our family trips. I love that inside they have a see through pocket to put your child's name, phone number, and address. The patterns are adorable and very colorful. Super bright and true to the pictures. My sons teachers LOVE them and are always complimenting my boys. They're also so much easier for my sons to wear than most other backpacks. Definitely will order more.

I love this backpack and so does my 2 year old grandson! On a recent trip I packed 2 diapers, travel size wipes, markers, color books, stickers & sticker book, kids kindle & a hoodie, all in the main compartment! In the small compartment I packed knit hat, mittens, snack pack of grapes, a cutie (orange) and 2 packs of the square peanut butter sandwich crackers. A regular size bottle of water fit perfectly in the side pocket. I did not have to stuff or pull at the zippers to get the compartment zipped, either! I don't know where all of the room came from. It was like having a very roomy compact car. The straps adjusted to hold it up on his back, but they did slide down his narrow shoulders from time to time. I remedied that issue by pulling the straps together at his chest and securing them with the strap-n-snap that goes around my phone charging cord. If I were to want one more perk to this pack, it would be to permanently attach one.Bottom line, this is nearly the perfect pack. We love the print. The zippers zip easily. It also has a loop for hanging it on a hook. The price point was such that if something happens, it can be replaced with another. I don't foresee it falling apart before a year, but will come back and post if it does.

I bought this for my 3 year old for nursery. It's a great size for him to carry himself but still roomy enough to take a change of clothes, a few toys and books and if needs be the blanket comforter! It should last him a couple of years too - the design is great. He was delighted with it.

When initially purchased, we wanted a pack for our then 2+ year-old son to use for carrying his nap blanket to preschool, or hat, sunglasses and jacket for daytime outings, and/or a small lunch or snack. Our first choice was the which in some ways was more appropriate to his size, yet extremely limited in capacity (it wouldn't fit his knit blanket without me literally stuffing it in). No, the Littlelife was probably better suited for the brand new walkers, if that's the intention of the parents.Enter this Wildkin pack. Dimensionally, it is about 2x the capacity of the Littlelife -- mainly evident in the depth, i.e. how far it sticks off the back. It's also probably an inch or so wider than your typical 2 year-old's torso. It would be easy to overstuff, so we try to remain conscious of that and limit loads to the above mentioned accessories. We eventually added lumps of (heavy) homemade play-dough, which he *Loves* to drag in to school to distribute to his teachers. The pack isn't as well constructed as the Littlelife, but it's better than some backpacks I remember using to tote books to school when I was growing up. In fact, or son is now five, and with 3 years of regular usage on it, the original pack remains in ~excellent~ condition. The "fabric" is a relatively rigid material that so far has been resilient to being dragged occasionally on the sidewalk, and the exterior doesn't seem very absorbent, making it easy to wipe clean. The top hanging loop tore loose at the stitching on the 2nd of these packs we purchased (for our 2nd son), that was was easily sewed back in place. The straps are wide (for a toddler) and lightly padded. Even though they look too big, our boys haven't expressed any discomfort (and of course the load is usually light), and I haven't noticed them accidentally slipping off of their shoulders. But, lacking any sort of sternum clip (to cinch the two straps together in front of the chest, as found on some adult packs), it's very easy for them to intentionally slip out of these, and in the 2 to 3 year range, they like to do that. Often. Sometimes just to put it back on again. A sternum strap would put the brakes on that.Even though the packs "look" a bit large on toddlers, the straps are the right distance apart that they wear correctly over the shoulders, and don't hang much below their waists. The packs will continue to be usable easily until 1st grade -- we'll know for sure in another year. For a parent who is still concerned about the size, it's my understanding (from the manufacturer's site & Google searches) that this pack is sold in Target stores, so it would be easy to give it an in-person once-over before committing to the purchase.Edit: 1/26/13 -- the original pack is still going strong, with a bit of wear along the piping along the bottom edges, due to being occasionally dragged. Our littlest, 19 months, now carries his own. It's a little bulky to his frame, but he eagerly took to it right away and has no problem carrying his nap blanket and a lightweight coat and hat.
