Been calling this company since I got the kayak(best kayak I’ve ever had) but the rudder string in broke so rudder doesn’t work properly. Pretty crazy that they would send this out with broke string, this should be steel nylon for the rudders. I’ll update to 5 stars if they ever send me replacement strings

It's very stable and moves very well thru the water. I'm very impressed with this kayak. I don't use the rudder a lot but it definitely does improve directional control in the wind or currents.

So far had this kayak on 5 paddles, all flatwater in calm and 15 mph wind conditions. She does well in both, can reach and keep a good cruising speed with an efficient stroke. Turning quickly without the rudder was very difficult at first, but a little practice with edging gave her much better handling. Good stability and she tracks fairly well on water. One drawback is that at ~55 pounds, its a bit of a lift it fully overhead to load by yourself, so bear that in mind. At 6'1" and athletic 185 pounds I am a near perfect fit, but I wish I had more foot room to operate the foot pedals with my size 12-13 feet, would then consider the 145 for more beam width as well.
