The goodThis is one BEEFY rim. its good looking, the spokes are enormous and the double wall construction is terrific. I think its a great price for a quality rim.The badThe rim in my estimation is not ready for installation from the box. I bought this one on Amazon and a matching rear from somewhere else. Both were out of true and the bearing cones were set so tight the wheel would barely spin when held in your hands.I have been tinkering with bikes for about 50 years and have ridden 100 mile rides and know a thing or two so was able to true the rim and repack the bearings and set the cones so they werent dragging but .. If you are a casual rider looking for a replacement you may have to bring it to a bike shop to have them make them road worthy

This is one heavy duty wheel with a thick walled triple box alloyed rim, and twelve gauge spokes. I maxed out the rubber I can have with Schwalbe's most universal tire with a heavy rubber tread on my bike along with this, and the ride is something unique. They did not say anything about the hub, but it is obviously cup, and cone, though I wish it had cartridge sealed bearings. I am pretty sure it is strong enough, whereas I doubt they would put anything lighter than the spokes and rims on it, so it should have a strong enough axle. The hub does look heavier than the typical bicycle hub, so heavy duty should only be fitting. With a heavy rubber 2.15 inch tire on it, pumped up to 70 psi, the ride is stiff, but the big rubber gives it a feel like I have never known? A very different ride than what I had with a lighter setup all the way around.

I had 2 bikes with damaged front wheels and these were perfect replacements. True, and perfect. Put rim tape on them tubes and tires and you're good to go.

Man this wheel is stout! I got this wheel for an old rim brake only MTB. This wheel should last a few decades. It's machine assembled but rolls round and tru. I checked it in my truing stand. These wheels are getting harder and harder to find. 26 rim brakes are something of the past now with everyone running disc or 29r wheels.

Nice wheel. Came with the skewer. Rolls true.One star off because it did not come with rim tape, but it definitely needed it.
