I needed an inline switch for a 30 amp circuit. For 30 amps you need 10 gauge cable which would absolutely positively not pass through the openings in the switch box. The switch is more for an extension cord running 14 gauge cables.

Installed this switch to a light over my grill, Switch lights up when turned on. Easy to install in the cord.

Unfortunately, this switch lasted only two weeks before it "popped," died and would no longer turn on. The switch just wobbled. I also noticed the clicking sound it made when flipping it ON was now gone.Overall, I like the look and feel of the switch, but I don't believe its 20 amp rating is accurate. As the 1500 watt space heater I had it connected to was drawing only 13.67 amps. While in use, I did notice the switch would get warm, but it never got hot. Thankfully, it was still within the return window and I was issued a refund. What Could Be Improved1. A switch that's rated to handle 30 amps.2. The connection points. They are so small, it's difficult to attach wires to them. Larger connection points would be a welcomed change.**********************************UPDATE: 12-23-24I've upgraded this review from 2 stars to 3 because the company took the time to contact me about it and offered to do anything they could to make me happy; including refunding my full purchase price. Since I had already gotten a refund from Amazon, I told them that wasn't necessary. However, I always appreciate it when a company does all they can to make their customers happy. I believe this 20-amp switch will work fine for any device rated under 1000 watts. It just can't handle 1500.

The switch itself is not rated for 30 amps as the page says, it is only good for 16 amps. Looking it over, that makes sense. The switch is pretty small and has tiny little contacts. Not only that, but the box the switch goes into is WAY too small to fit the wire you'd need to actually run use this switch at full power.

Seen switches advertised in the past as waterproof and the seal around the box is barely there so for 24/48hrs it's waterproof. This one though is great in waterproofing and ok in the switch department. I wasn't expecting much for the price but the switch is used to turn off-road lights on for backing up to trailers and it works as it should. The quality of the switch doesn't strike me as something that will last for years to come but I could be wrong.... We will see
