Wished I'd had this phone years ago. It's easy to set up, easy to read the big numbers and big caller i.d. number on its raised, tilted bar, and is great for landlines. Blinks red when you have a message, so you automatically know without having to punch in to find out.

I bought one of these CL4940 speakerphones two years ago and liked it so well that I recently ordered a second one which was delivered to me in just one day! Since I use these phones on my "land line" for outgoing calls only, I am not using their Caller ID or answering system features. Those two features would perform fine for you, but my land line has a "do not disturb" feature which I have on all the time to completely insulate me from all those solicitations calls that used to aggravate me.The CL4940 feature I like best is the very convenient Directory that has a capacity for dialing 25 stored numbers.

I transitioned to working from home and needed a good phone to support all the meetings I have. Having a good speaker phone was important. I also use a VOIP service through Ooma so it needed to work with this. This phone has worked out well so far especially considering the price. Would recommend.

Very pleased with this phone. Only reason for 4-star rating is absence of the "HOLD" feature, which seems to be a popular trend. Is the "FLASH" feature meant to replace "HOLD"? .Anyone notice this or find it inconvenient?

This is an attractive phone and the backlit screen is bright and the font is very readable even without my glasses! We like this phone because it is hardwired and does not emit any RF, EM, or EMF radiation. I have tested it with my meter and it is as safe as an old antique crank phone. Full of nice features like caller ID and recorded messaging. We wish it would announce the caller ID because we have to come to the phone and check to screen the call, but we can both use the exercise anyway!

Most features of this phone can be found in other phone models, Ringer sound not sharp. Button letters are light and not good for seniors to use. Price is not competitive. Actually this phone is very expensive with other charges included. It takes long for delivery. I would not purchase or recommend this model. Customers should shop around before purchase.
