Your cart is empty.Metal color is a new range of water-based metallic colors, especially designed for airbrushing. In the development of these new and innovative metallic colors, the latest generation of aluminum pigments has been used in a specifically designed formula which results in a series of colors of exceptional resistance and adherence to plastics and metal. Metal color can be applied directly on models without the need for the use of a Primer, although in the case of fuselages and components for airplane models it is recommended to first apply a glossy black Primer to bring forth the unique and special quality of the aluminum finish.

Vallejo Metal Colors are hands down the best metallic paints in my opinion. They go on super smooth, and have a great metallic sheen. A great selection of tones as well.

Plain and simple, looking for a good metallic paint for a bargain price to volume ratio? Can’t go wrong with Vallejo’s model metallic paints. The color is “copper” and it has great coverage. Always remember to going with thin layers, it’s easier to build up rather than build down from a thick layer of metallic paint. Also if you’re rinsing off metallic paints, make sure you empty your rinse cup to avoid metal flakes mixing with your non-metallic paints.

I love the coverage and finish of the vallejo metal air paints. The only one I don't like is gold, which is too pale yellow for my taste. This is a nice dark metal color.

This metal color has a nice matte white aluminum look. Was package securely and shipped fast. Works well in my airbrush after a little thinning.

I think once at full opacity, the finish is nice. I used this with a brush, but I needed about 2-3 coats for the full opacity. I will say it does go on really smooth with my method of choice. Also, I'd recommend letting it dry completely before going on with a new coat, so may take some time in between coats. Also, the gold has more of a green undertone than I expected, so keep that in mind.

This went so smooth it looked great on the model. It was so easy to airbrush on with a .35 needle. I tested to see how smooth it was. I did not thin it out as I airbrushed it on. It went on with zero issues. Dries quickly and took shading with no issues. Also it didn’t take very much to get full coverage.

Best water clean up metallic paint that I've used. Flows fast, so if you're brushing it on, be sure to wick off the excess before you apply.

Most "metallic" model paints, look like "metallic" model paints. Typically some greyish pigment, full of glitter. And when you use it on a model, it looks like you painted your model with some greyish paint, and then shot it with a glitter cannon. It's obvious, and it usually doesn't look great. The Vallejo Metal Color line of paints does not look like grey glitter soup on your model. These paints look like you have a metal model. If you have avoided these because you don't like the look of metallic paints, I'm here to tell you, this paint line is your salvation. Your brain will not be able to fully grasp the fact that the plastic or resin model you are working with, is not actually made out of metal. If you've avoided this paint line because you do not have an airbrush, it's ok, you can put this paint on with a brush, no problem. It's a little thin, so don't go crazy, but it goes on smooth and looks exactly the same with a brush.
