This is an average rotary switch, from you-know-where, I'm sure. I had minor trouble with the solder lugs coming somewhat loose during the heat generated with soldering. The switch still works, but the lugs are loose.

It takes more force to turn the shaft than I wanted for my small electronic device. Adding to that, this pot has no tab on the side (projecting in the same direction as the shaft, to go through a small hole in the panel) to lock pot in place and keep it from spinning in the panel. So it depends on your application if this is suitable or not. I'll probably find a use for it someday.
