This is something that I'm sure many of us have tried to do ourselves by putting our perishable food in a smaller bowl inside a bowl filled with ice. I like the idea of having a clear ice bowl that clearly tells everyone that yes, this food is safe to eat because it is being kept cold! However, the outer bowl is a bit flimsy and not well insulated so the ice itself will not stay cold very long. The serving utensils will only work if you want people to take really large portions because they are huge and need to be used in tandem to grab anything. I think salad tongs are a better replacement for salads and a smaller spoon for things like chopped salads or potato salad.

I normally don't write reviews, but WOW! This bowl is not only attractive the ice never melted even after five hours. It certainly does the job as it kept my macaroni salad cold and safe to eat. It is the perfect size for bringing food to a party.

Oh, wow, I just had a little dinner party and used this bad boy. My guests “ooh’d” and “ahh’d” over it.First, the salad bowl over ice display is visually - stunning. Second of all, it kept the salad cold through dinner, and the ice was still present hours later. This is due to the double - walled effect, when a container is placed inside of another.The salad bowl works great, is easy to use because it’s pretty self - explanatory. Fill the larger bowl with ice, and put the smaller bowl with salad on top, just like in the pictures.I like that both the outer bowl and lid are clear, they look so beautiful on the dinner table. The materials feel nice and durable, and I feel that with reasonable care, it should last me for years to come.There were a total of seven people at my dinner, and the bowl held more than enough salad for everyone. With that said, it does depend on how much salad a person eats, of course. Furthermore, I served my salad as a side, not as the main course.Cleaning was a breeze! I just gave everything a quick rinse in the sink and put them away.

Great bowl! The metal part, which holds your salad is big, a great size! The plastic holds ice to keep your salad cool! It comes with a cover, which other salad bowls should take not of!! It comes with utensils to serve and mix the salad. The utensils aren't bad, but I prefer different more high quality ones. The plastic isn't super thick, but you're not getting dollar store quality either. The metal/tin part is sturdy, the quality is pretty good! The packaging kept everything safe! This salad bowl is the best I've ever owned, not that I've owned many, but it keeps it cool and is overall a great concept!

I haven't used this product yet so I cannot say anything for how long your food remains cold, but I will say, this salad bowl is really large and definitely for a big party. It is perfect if you're hosting a family dinner. It looks simple nothing too fancy about it but it serves the purpose. I love that it also came with serving spoons that matches it. Product material is good therefore it is durable and will last long, unless you continuously dropping it. It's also dishwasher safe. I'm excited to use this salad bowl for my next family gathering as we all love salad.

The bowl is great, it was the perfect size for salad. The lid allows for tossing the dressing. The double bowl is nice for adding an ice layer to keep salad cold in south FL. But the clear plastic does not hold up well in the dishwasher. I hand washed the outer bowl, but I did put the tools in the third tier of my dishwasher (the very top). They both cracked. That was kind of disappointing. They are still useful, but wont last very long. Don't put the plastic pieces in the dishwasher, not even the top shelf.

I've been looking for a bowl like this for some time. Mine is the macaroni salad for every family gathering, and I always have to throw out the leftovers because it wasn't kept cold. This bowl is perfect! Nice looking, large enough for a large salad, and it keeps the salad cold until the ice melts! The stainless steel bowl is good quality, and the acrylic bowl has a lid matching and serving utensils. It's all dishwasher safe, but the dishwasher never dries well enough to prevent water spots, so I prefer hand washing. This is a nice enough set for gifting and looks great at potlucks.

Nice item for potlucks. My kids are in scouting and we have potlucks every few months. This is perfect for salads or anything that should be kept cold.It feels sell made and sturdy. Most likely I'll be handwashing any of the plastic parts cause I know the dishwasher can destroy it. I want this to last for a long time.It's easy to clean, there are not weird crevices and it's not too big. I hate big bowls that don't fit in my sink.It's easy to use and the bowl fits perfectly into the bigger bowl. You don't have to worry about the weight of the bowl causing the melted ice/water to overflow on the side and into you dish.Great thing to have on hand.
