My valve cracked from my Polaris Pool Cleaner so decided to buy this replacement valve and it worked great. Fit in just right with no air escaping. Very easy to install. Saved me a lot of money.

My pool sweeper was constantly getting stuck. The backup valve wasn't functioning properly. So on to the Leslie's Pool Supply website. They wanted $120 for a name brand backup valve. $95 for just the guts alone and $70 for the off brand backup valve. The malfunctioning backup valve looks exactly like this product. Even the mechanism looks identical. This product is made in China just like the vast majority of everything else that we buy. Not to say that's a bad thing, it's just that name brand products have accrued extra expenses in the process of getting to you. Do yourself a favor and give this product a chance before paying almost 4 times the price.In taking this backup valve apart I noticed some plastic manufacturing shavings. There's a chance this would have affected the performance of the valve if the shavings would have gotten lodged between the sprockets. It's also a good idea to take it apart and lube up the O-rings with Pool safe O-ring lubricant. By doing this it allows you to take it apart from time to time and inspect the mechanism inside the back of valve.

Since my unit was working intermittently, I inspected it and realized it was the old valve that was cracked and immediately ordered a single new part. It worked great after installation, the pool cleaned up well, no difference from the old one, and the price was great.

First time buying a pool cleaner replacement part and upon receipt found the installation exceeded expectations. The density is exceptionally good, no problems with air leaks, and cost effective. Tried buying this for the first time to save money and was pleased with the results.
