I've given this switch a good look over and the switching mechanism is strong and makes a solid connection. The manufacture has provided good images that show what this switch is designed for.It is important to point out that the copper looking contacts are not copper. As stated by the seller in the following. "The copper part is made of silver alloy dots, which have good conductivity and oxidation resistance."The bottom line is this is a 3 pole single throw on/off/on switch. There is no default meaning this switch is not normally open or closed. it will not reset during a power failure. This switch is rated for 120-240VAC 2 pole (single phase) or you can utilize all 3 poles for a 3 phase operation up to 400vac. The 690v claim is the calculation of 230v going through each line in a 3 phase setup. This product has a 30 day warranty.Cheers

Switch feels solid when switching. All terminals connect properly when switched (as confirmed with a multimeter). This switch turns on two separate circuits, separately. You could add some lumper cables to make this switch switch between two separate power sources, OR two separate loads from one power source.Circuits can be 120V, 220V or 3-phase, since there are three terminals per input/output. It's hard to completely understand the specs, but it looks like it may be able to be used with DC power too.

It may say 40amp in the listing, but at 240 it drops to nothing. This is a tinker toy.
