My microphone is extremely sensitive and the slightest movement is picked up, so I was looking for a shock mount and saw that this was a viable option. It's cheap, decently made for the price point, and was very easy to install.

This Universal Microphone Shock Mount will hold a wide range of mic body diameters.I've tried straight barrels mics down to 9/16" diameter, tapered barrel mics and large up to 2-3/16". All held firmly in most positions, even in an overhead boom configuration (with a moderate weight mic). The shock isolators are a bit on the stiff side so this might not be the best mount to use in high isolation situations, but as a utility mount I found the vibration resistance to be fine for vocals and instruments. The ring body is rigid and well made and the swivel tightens firmly holding position very well.A metal pop screen is included and while fairly effective, I found the adjustment method to be somewhat awkward. Also the pop mount restricts access to the forward mic mount screw. I found it easier to remove the filter and install the mic then insert and adjust the filter. Not worth a star demerit, but just a little annoyance.Bottom line: Good mount, better than some OEMs I've seen at what I consider to be a good price point. Doesn't need to be a high-end brand name to be a worthwhile addition to one's performance/recording kit.

I think this shock mount would've been better if it used the elastic type bands rather than the hard plastic shock absorbers. There isn't really anything isolating the mic from the stand with this. You have a rigid material connected to other rigid material. That's not going to absorb anything. I also don't care for how the mic is held in place with this shock mount. It's just little thumb wheels. I wouldn't trust this shock mount to hold a super expensive mic. Seems like an accident waiting to happen with a super expensive mic.

My Samson is pretty thick. I removed the included mounting arm from the samson and wanted to fit the shock mount holder into the two circle mounting points on my samson. It was a little too thick to make it fit..., but I was able to remove a C clip on one of the mount screws on the shock mount and BAM, got it to fit my samson like it was meant for it!does a very good good isolating vibrations and works great.Only thing I don't like about it is that it's made of plastic. Worried about how long it will last but so far been good.

The Universal Microphone Shock Mount with Pop Filter for Condenser Microphones Size at 21-62mm Anti-Vibration Mic Holder Clip(Red) is fairly well made with adequate materials. All of the connections are snug and have no gaps or flaws. The shock mount mechanism is a fairly hard rubber-type compound with small to medium shock reduction capabilities. The pop filter is also adequate. It does reduce pops and also reduces some of the letter "s" hissing. The microphone is held with four compression pieces that press against the microphone body.

First thing's first: if you have a condenser mic of the type/shape listed and you don't have a way to mount it, this is a decent way to pick up an affordable mount. If you're dealing with a high-end mic there's no reason to scrimp on something like this. This kind of product is made for the podcaster and bedroom recordist. For me, I'm perfectly happy to have this as a backup for the mount I use for my AT mics, as I've had the rubberbands snap on those things in the past in the middle of a session. So it's good to have something to serve as a backup.Ultimately, though, despite the convenience and adaptability of this mount, it's not the greatest. The four screw-mounts make me think of a Christmas-tree-holder base, and I wonder how long they will hold up over time. I've had enough experience with the metal grooves stripping out on such low-quality hardware that it makes me nervous. I do like how it applies to different-sized mics, though. The big thing with these mounts is the shock resistance... others here are saying it's just plastic material and there's no deadening, but the site here calls it "Special Material" (maybe a silicone concoction?)... regardless, it's not like the rubber-band web that I have on my AT mic mounts. If they could make the special material more like that, and make their four connections more rock-solid then they'd have something here. Otherwise, I'm giving this 3.75 stars as a good emergency backup mount.

It's generally fine enough. But flimsy plastic in sections is questionable.
