The A/C on my 2015 Sienna started acting up to the point that it wasn’t cooling. I tried adding refrigerant but it showed that the problem was more serious. I started stressing out thinking I needed a new compressor. I decided to check online and noticed that many people were having the same issue and fixed it by replacing this part. I went ahead and ordered, installed it and it worked perfectly.Make sure to vacate your a/c system professionally before replacing the part. Make sure to either purchase or rent the tools to refill the refrigerant afterwards. There are plenty on YouTube videos on how to do it.

Installed in less than an hour. Brought A/C back to like-new without costly compressor replacement. Symptoms were high pressure (>120 psi) on low side when compressor switched on. Took this part to a shop and they vacuumed out the system and installed the part and recharged everything in less than an hour.

After local shop attempted robbery, I researched and replaced on 2012 sienna. If your gauges show signs of weak compressor this valve may be stuck and not able to perform which gives signs of weak compressor. Hot tip, bleed down to 20 psi, then take off snap ring, turn valve and it will pop out. Don’t try to pull it out or pry it out, silly.
