This switch is high quality and the front metal knob is great. This replaced a switch I had with a plastic front knob. Would highly recommend this switch.

Not sure why there are reviews saying the switch doesn't work. Installed into 57 Pontiac and it works fine even the rheostat for the dash lights . Includes a +12v post for accessories so you don't have to splice anything if you want to add accessory etc that needs power . I was able to successfully add my original knob and bezel to the whole thing looks original from the outside . Only complaint is price at $40 that's steep. I would say $25 would be closer to what it's worth , but , a switch for an ancient car showed up on my door in 2 days Soni guess you're paying for that .

This was a great direct replacement in my 1951 Chevy. Has connection points for: headlights, taillights, parking lights, dash lights, battery power, ground. Others I’ve had in the past are plastic knob and nut and they have broken and looked cheap. This one is great for the money.

The description clearly said this switch controls the dome light. Check my photos, there is no dome light connectivity. This switch does have a detent, however, when you turn the knob backwards which makes a connection. I investigated further and found some idiot sent the dome light signal into the TAIL circuit. In my third photo you can see me pointing to the copper bridge that carries the dome light signal to the TAIL circuit. Also... Check my 4th picture. I'm pointing at the D where the board says DOME. What is supposed to be the dome light connector is neither bent nor configured for an electrical connection. It's just flat. This is a manufacturing defect that would have been caught by even poor quality control... And it probably affects a large batch of these.Avoid this if you need a dome light.Avoid this if you want a component that's been reviewed by quality control.

I bought the first switch and installed it and my headlights would not work. After looking into the issue more I found that it was the switch itself. So go another switch and the same thing. If you wiggle the connections they work. Waste of time and money.

I read some reviews and almost did not buy. Said was plastic knob and aluminum locking nut, also it fell apart. I found just the opposite, the knob is nicely chromed metal, the holding nut is heavy duty metal (not aluminum), and the whole assembly was well put together. Easy to install, worked great, fixed my problem.
