These work very well. The two screws and wing nuts hold the pieces in place. So far they have done the job.

These were actually better than the original plates. Adjustable and good materials. They are still functioning after a year of grilling and going strong.

These are extremely thick, heavy metal that adjust to the correct size you need. I am simply amazed at the quality. They’re heavy duty and they will last a very, very long time. I could not be happier .to bad The Grill didn’t come with them to start lol

I have a Monument 350 Mesa grill. While it's mostly stainless steel, the flame deflectors are not. I don't use my grill very much, but its flame deflectors demonstrated significant signs of corrosion after only a few uses.I tried, without success, to find stainless steel flame deflectors that would fit my grill.I found this item. It's not an exact fit. The depth is less than the original deflectors, but the length is fully adjustable, and these deflectors appear to fit the bill.

These heat plates seem heavy duty and were very well packaged. Time will tell if they are durable or not, but my first impressions were positive. The first thing I noticed was that some thought went into the packaging. The plates were not just stacked in a box. Each half of each pair was zip tied to its other half as they should be assembled, so there were no mismatched pieces or confusion about assembly. Each zipped-tied pair was then stacked in the box, but each pair was separated by paper to prevent them from rubbing against each other. I was impressed that the extra time and care went into packaging a relatively inexpensive item. The stainless steel seemed rigid enough. At least they could not be easily bent. I will have to wait until the end of the summer to see how they hold up, but I am hopeful that they will be fine.Everything went together easily. The longest part of the process was due to having to unscrew the packaged wing nuts and bolts. Most (but not all) wing nuts were pre-screwed onto a bolt before packaging. I can understand why it was done (to try make sure everything had a mate), but it did add a few minutes (at most) to the assembly time. At most though, it is a 5-10 minute job.

First off: what was wrong with lava rock? Did it break a lot? Is Iceland running out? 20 years ago you bought a cheap gas grill and it had lava rock in the bottom to diffuse the heat and catch the grease. Perfect. The peak of simplicity and effectiveness. Nothing superior exists. However, marketing powers-that-be decided that wasnt good enough and we needed to put something more complicated than just plain old rock in our grills. We need something less environmentally friendly, something that needs mining and refining (and regular replacing). So my last 3 gas grills have had these annoying ultra-thin steel heat tents, which of course rust through in about 3 years. The grill being basically useless without them, got thrown out and replaced (OK, maybe I see the reason now). Not liking to throw away a $250 grill every 4 years I decided to cheap out and bought the WalMart blue light special grill for $88. 3 burners. Worked fine for 3 years but the heat tents crumbled into dust. So I bought these to try and save the planet from yet another grill. They were easy to put together, adjustable to fit perfectly, are way thicker than the factory ones and actually seem to help the food cook faster, possibly because they stick up farther and are therefore closer to the food, causing more radiative heating.Recommend.
