About this item

  • Shedding Season Helper: When you comb your pet's coat with a long-toothed rake comb, the shed waste hair is collected in the crevices of the comb teeth without hair flying around. At this point, you can easily remove a whole piece of spent hair from the comb
  • Reduces Floating Hair: The undercoat rake is suitable for daily grooming and can reduce shedding by up to 90% by grooming your pet regularly for 5 minutes a day. The comb's grooming section is 16 cm/6.29 in. long and the steel teeth are 2.3 cm/0.94 in. long. The wide enough working area reduces grooming time for large dogs, and the ergonomic rubber grip helps you groom easily
  • Round Head Pins: Medium to large dogs like Samoyeds, Bernese Mountains, and Old English Sheepdog have long, heavy coats and the rake's .94 inch long steel teeth penetrate deep into the dog's coat to remove loose hair and remove all mats, tangles and knots. The top of the teeth are rounded and polished for painless combing and to get your pet used to daily grooming.TIPS: Not for cats, small dogs or short-haired pets
  • Easy to Use: Proper use of the grooming tool allows air to enter your pet's skin and stimulates the hair follicles, which releases healthy oils. First, gently brush the back to the tail, then let the brush run down your pet's neck. Next, comb your pet's limbs, especially the long hairs on the back of the legs that are easily neglected. Finish with a light brush over the head and soft belly to remove any remaining emanations
  • STURDY & DURABLE: The widened comb rake is made of stainless steel and is water and oil resistant. There are strong screw connections between the rubber handle, steel bracket and comb head, which are not easy to fall off

I've been a groomer forever. I love this rake!! I actually use it on a Welsh Pony who has long thick hair. Best tool for his hair!! He looks beautiful all the time!! I use it on his body, mane and tail!! I love it and it's comfortable to use.

I have a Great Pyrenees dog and she loves to get brushed so we brush her every day. I watched a dog groomer video and he said if you have to go over the same area 5 or 6 times then you are not using the correct brush. I was using a slicker brush and though I was doing pretty well. I ordered this comb and I am amazed at how much more undercoat I am able to get. The fur sticks to the end of the comb so it isn't flying around and is easy to remove. I am not sure if I need any of the other 4 brushes that I have tried on her. I can't recommend this enough!

The comb has 2 rivets, one of which broke during our Goldens retrievers first combing

Best brush I've owned and I've owned A LOT of brushes. I like this one because it never splits my dogs hair ends. Instead it leaves the fur silky looking. My dog likes this brush way better than the fulminator which always frizzed out my dogs beautiful hair.

No complaints with the quality of this rake but it’s not the best option for my husky. It doesn’t strip the undercoat like I was hoping and for some reason she wasn’t fond of it.I think this would work great for dogs with a longer coat.

I ordered this because I've been having trouble getting through the undercoat on our chocolate Lab, which has had him going out to the fence and itching his back and managing to rub so hard he's broken wires on the fence; luckily, when he suddenly found himself outside the fence, he came around to the front door and barked to get my attention rather than running off exploring. But beyond fixing the fence, I needed to find a way to keep him from needing to scratch so badly. This undercoat rake is a fantastic answer to that; the teeth are closely spaced so they end up grabbing the loose hairs, and they're rounded on the tips so they don't risk breaking skin. And it's thick enough metal to withstand a lot of pressure or pulling without bending or breaking; I have no doubt it'll outlive the dog, and probably his successor as well. It's a little heavy in the hand, but that's necessary to make it work well on large and giant breeds with thick undercoats. And the Lab is THRILLED with this as a grooming tool; if I left it down, I think he'd be bringing it to me almost as often as he brings the disc when he wants to play (which he's a royal nuisance about, especially in the middle of a Zoom meeting).10 stars--5 from me and 5 from the dog!

I often see these types of fixed tooth combs in grooming kits but without handles. I've seen some with awkward side handles. This perpendicular handle style is much easier to work with. It feels sturdy, and the handle is comfortable.I have a golden with a thick coat. His butt and chest are extra thick. This comb goes deep enough to get to the undercoat to remove and prevent matting. The human hairbrush wasn't cutting it because the flexible bristles would just move out of the way. The other tools in the photo weren't up to the task either. My only complaint is that I think it is a little too wide. The comb's grooming section is really 5 7/8 inches outside-tooth to outside-tooth. The 6.29 inches mentioned in the description is probably the overall width of the tool. This makes it a little harder to manage and makes it harder to get in and around the contours of the body on my larger male golden. Even more so on my smaller female golden. The description wasn't really misleading here, I just wish it was not as wide.Lastly, my first one arrived with the comb rather crooked. I initiated an exchange, and all is well with the second one. This quality control issue is the primary reason for the 4 stars. Width plays a part but again they make this known.
