I have a 2023 F-150 Super Crew with the 5.5 ft bed. This bolted on perfectly and works great. The included small bolts were about 0.5” too short so had to buy 2 longer ones. But, that cost me a whopping $0.70 so I’m not complaining.

Chose this step based on simplicity of installation and being an all-metal step, no plastic pieces. I reviewed other steps for my 2023 Ford F150 crew cab 6 1/2 bed and some descriptions were not 100% clear if they work on my 2023. Other steps had multiple parts, this step has two parts, very simple to install. Instructions were ok, not detailed enough, figured out installation based on pictures and just looking at the truck. One recommendation I suggest is the two smaller bolts on the right side, (viewing from under truck looking at the bumper area are secured by clips, not nuts). This is not an issue with the step. I live in Michigan and salt will rust these clips rather quickly. I replaced both bolts and with a little longer bolts and installed nuts and washers for improved strength and longevity. A little tight to install, however very doable, just have to be patient. Been installed now for over two months, very satisfied, works great! easy to access truck bed with my old knees.

I was trying to find a nice bed step for my 2023 Ford F-150 Crew Cab Short Bed. Many of the reviews for other products cited a weak step that was plastic with a weak attachment to the hard mechanism. The last thing I need is a step that breaks off when I am entering or exiting the pick- up bed! This one looked like it was all metal and it is. Although there are no reviews I took a chance. It all worked out. A few comments: 1. The packaging was rather poor and the bracket that attaches to the truck broke through the box and a very small amount of paint was scratched off. 2. There are no instructions! By looking at the Amazon photos and the truck I was able to figure it out easily. 3. While the bracket that attaches to the truck fits very well, the original small bolts that attach to bumper were too short to reinstall as the thickness of the bracket would not allow me to thread them in. I purchased two 10.9 class, 8m 1.25 thread pitch, 20 mm long flange bolts with washers and the problem was easily solved. 4. Finally, after reading about other steps that have small bolts vibrating loose over time I decided to blue lock-tite the 5 bolts that attach the mechanism to the mounting bracket. The step operates easily and smoothly and is nicely hidden in the upper storage position.

Initially the bolt holes didn't align with the bolts on my truck, however, after considerable amount of manual bending the device and buying two longer bolts, the step's bolt holes lined up 90% with my truck and I was able to force the bolt through. It does fit, but the margins on the manufacturing are such that there is no uniformity and the fit isn't great without requiring a considerable amount of bending/fitting. Also required me to get longer bolts and two washers to be able to reach and tighten properly the two right-side bolts. It's all metal so thats the only good thing as the metal can be bent to fit better. For the price, it's acceptable, but barely.

There are no instructions, but I was able to figure it out without too much problem. Thought I might lend a few thoughts/comments to help others.- You first need to mount the two parts together with the screws provided. There are 4 holes and you just need to line them up. My packet had 5 bolts, 5 washers and 5 lock washers. I only found where 4 were needed. They take a hex wrench to tighten- The bracket as received is not a direct fit for my 2023 Ford 150 (seems that the mounting bracket is not bent exactly as needed). So what I found to work was to remove the 2 larger nuts and the two required bolts. I loosely mounted the two larger bolts and put the step down this gave me the leverage to be able to push and twist to get the two smaller holes that the bolts go into to line up. Then I was able to tighten all of them as needed.- Once mounted it all worked very well.I feel that the step goes up against the frame of the truck very well. It is easy to get to come down. I feel it goes into a good position and even with the tailgate down the step is in a good position to allow me to get up into the bed. The one thing I really don't have figured out is how to get it to go back up easy. Seems that I need to do it by hands to get it to work well. The thing I think I like the most is that the step is metal that is nicely coated and not plastic. I live in an area with snow and salt, so based on where it is, I am sure it will be abused. That is not the fault of the unit.Attached are some photos to help you to see what it looks like. One of the phones are the 4 mounting points. You take off what is already on the truck and then replace them. The original hardware worked fine for me.
