Our specialty started with handcrafting chimes (sometimes called bar chimes, wind chimes or chime trees). These instruments are incredibly well-made and produce lush, beautiful waves of tone with a sweep of your hand. They are simple to play. Use your finger to drag along the face of the chime bars just below the hole where the strings are mounted, and let one chime gently drop into the next. TreeWorks does not recommend using a beater or striker, due to the contact sound it creates. The magic comes from the chime bars themselves making contact. The metal 3/8” diameter chime bars are made of TreeWorks' exclusive Aluminum/Titanium alloy, comprised of 11 different metals melted together. They are heat treated for 8 hours to create a crystal clear tone, then the bars are polished to a brilliant finish. The unique chromatic-like tuning has been described as ethereal and shimmering—great for any music or sound immersion setting. The mantle, TreeWorks' name for the wooden frame, is crafted from solid Tennessee hardwood. The deep color is brought out with a hand-rubbed oil finish that is high-end, yet understated. Each chime bar is individually hand-tied to the mantle. One-bar-at-a-time. NO PLASTIC TIES and NO STAPLES are used. The braided CordLoc(TM) we use can hold up to 50 pounds (think miniature rappelling rope). To say TreeWorks chimes are durable is an understatement. This chime is great for using on your desk, a percussion table or for meditation and yoga. The rich Tennessee hardwood stand makes for quick set up and takes up practically no space while keeping the chimes from tipping over—no assembly is required. With a simple sweep of your hand a wondrous tone is released. It is a calming way to begin meditation. The perfect signal for a teacher to begin class. The first one I ordered arrived smashed, and a replacement was sent. The smashed one was so badly broken, however, that a well-meaning roommate threw it away. As a result, it never got sent back to Amazon and I was just charged for the replacement. The price was worth it for one. Double the price, however, is absolutely not worth it. I will now be returning the replacement for a refund and taking a loss on the one that was broken during shipment, and in the future will order sturdier products.

DO NOT BUY! The chimes sound decent, but the stand is absolute garbage. It's far too lightweight to stand upright during use, and the first time it fell over, one of the side pegs cracked, and the other broke completely. I'm building a nice, heavy stand for these that can support the chimes, and allow me to actually use them. Really disappointed in this purchase.

This is the most beautiful chime I have found! I could have gone cheap, but I want something aesthetically pleasing and I wasn’t disappointed. It’s the perfect addition to my sound bath meditations! And it looks great with my meditation altar. The quality is superb, handcrafted in the USA! Highly recommend!

I like the chimes though this product is not very portable, the wood piece that hold it up cracked in half.

Arrived broken and unusable. Contacted to return item and was expected to pay returns postage back to America out of my own pocket in order to return the item which arrived damaged due to no fault of my own. Hugely out of pocket and my disabled son went without.

I LOVE TREEWORKS CHIMES!!! I APOLOGIZE FOR NOT MAKING THIS COMMENT SOONER, BUT I HAVE SOME CRAZY ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE. ANYHOO, I HAVE PLAYED THIS EVERY CHANCE I GET AND IT SITS ON A COUNTER WHERE I CAN EASILY PLAY THIS BEAUTIFUL CHIMES! I LOOK FORWARD TO MAKE MORE PURCHASES AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. For me this is functional art. The sound is so clean and the craftsmanship just oozes quality. You have to hear it in person as I have never heard a sound system reproduce this sound so cleanly. Beautifully packaged and arrived quickly.

This is a beautiful instrument. I needed two sets of chimes. I purchased the last one of this style and another (made by the same company...and apparently the same person--he signed a tag that came with both sets of chimes) set of chimes that had a metal base. I thought this would be the sturdier of the two styles. However, I think the other one would be a bit less likely to be tipped over by over-zealous hands. I teach elementary music and will be using this with fairly young children. The sound is beautiful, and both instruments sound wonderful played together. I recommend both instruments.
