Works fine, but of moderate quality. Loosens up quickly in use with an ATAS-120 on it. Attempting to tighten causes the barrel to rotate within the bracket. Works ok, but check it often so you don't loose your antenna.

Tram are one of the larger manufacturers of antennas and antenna accessories and have a good reputation to uphold. This product is made right inline with that tradition. The body is all stainless steel and the mount is meant for use on the mirror arms of a semi. I chose to use it to mount my dual-band VHF/UHF antenna on my motorcycle using the guards for my saddle bags. It isn't useable if I have a passenger, but when I'm riding solo, it works great.

5 Stars per excellent quality as Tram mounts always are. Designed for large truck mirror mounting I wanted to mount a mobile antenna on a horizontal chain link fence rail. Great idea except it is a little too small. So if you have the same idea I just saved you some money. The spacing between the bolts is 1-3/16".The spacing between the brackets is 1-1/16".A chain link fence rail is typically 1-3/8".It won't fit even with longer bolts.Regards

I ordered this so I could hard mount my wilson 1000 whip instead of a magnetic mount it fits pretty good. It's slightly smaller than the antenna base but it works fine and it is very sturdy does not feel cheep

This is exactly what I needed to finish my base antenna for my 2m ham set up. I started with an upright mobile with PL259 on the end. There are plenty of mounts that are either magnetic or meant to mount on the edge of a vehicles rain gutter or maybe the edge of a bumper or something. Many had the coax cable already attached, which may be very convenient for some cases, but not this one. For one, I use a bit bigger cable than the standard RG58 commonly used in mobile applications. I wanted to be able to attach radials for a ground plane as well, so a bracket for mast mounting and a SO239 bulkhead barrel connector would have worked, and also would have cost me almost 3 times as much but the time I was done. This bracket happened to pop up while I was shopping for coax and connectors, and when I looked further I found that their are quite a few for CB antennas, but this was the only one with a SO239 barrel already on it and would require very little modification to not only add my ground plane radials, but to also mount on a pole by simply turning the V notched plate a 14 turn. I saw some ridiculous complaints in the reviews, "issues" that are easily remedied by using different hardware, or drilling new holes. If being used for it's intended purpose it's perfect as is. Very minor modification can make it even more versatile, so for $10 it was a very good deal. It's very sturdy, and the connector is a very good fit for both my antenna and the PL259 on my coax. Very fortunate to have stumbled across this while looking for something else. I just bought a very nice brand new radio and have been waiting for this one piece to be able to finally hook it all up and try it out, so I was also very fortunate that it showed up pretty quick. I ordered it Monday afternoon, today is Wednesday and I received it this morning. Will most likely order a couple more just to have for later antenna projects because the connector alone is worth the price.

I used this as a base for an antenna I build for 50mhz / turn out good/ use old fibre glass poles and 3mm copper tube as radiator/ with four ground Plane leg attach to 10cm square plate with corners bent down at 45 angle better than V2000
