This was just a replacement of what I had before. A corded hand held thermometer that I was using for the mash kettle , not working any more due to the damage cord from the lid. It was hard to find a replacement with a larger digital screen, for viewing from a distance. This was only option I could find, more than I wanted to spend but it is good quality. Only down fall is the screen, it is too dark to read from a distance. It would be nice if it was brighter.
