Used this bit to jack hammer a lawn that was so hard & dry .. a shovel wouldn't even break it.. the shovel broke!! I jack hammered the lawn section by section removing up2 a foot of the hardest clay packed marl type soil and river stone I've ever encountered anywhere.. worked like a charm! But man is that jackhammer heavy with the bit.. lifting a 47 lb hammer & bit 30 or 40 times a shift is pure bull work.. not sure how it would be doing a wall demo with this hammer & the right bit.. but that's another review.

I have only used this for digging 2 post holes so far but it worked great for the 2 holes. I have very rocky soil and it plunged right through the rocks and clay. I then used a post hole digger to remove the loosened rocks and dirt. It seems well built so I hope it lasts for awhile. I used it with a xtremepower 2200 watt jack hammer. Note: The rocks in my area are not super hard. I can generally go through them with a jack hammer chisel. If you have super hard rocks, the shovel may not penetrate them.

The soil around here is clay and over by the dock becomes some type of almost shale like substance. This shovel attachment is a godsend for digging post holes, trench lines for electrical, etc. If you have some tough soil this will make your life so much easier. Works great with F2C 2200w jack hammer sold here on Amazon. Compatible with drive and shovel is also in the correct orientation. I've gone through rocks with this. Some have mentioned this breaking. I doubt that is a common occurrence, seems pretty tough. If you own a welder the risk is negligible.

If you're digging or loosening compacted soil or clay, this spade tool works well. The metal quality appears solid. I've used it for about four months 2-3 hours a day digging ditches and it still looks good with little wear.

This is the right size clay spade to go with the cheap chinese import jackhammers you get on Amazon and eBay with a 30mm hex shank. Solidly made item, which would happily punch its way through concrete, never mind clay.I got it for attacking a large clump of bamboo roots. To get it to cut through the roots, I had to sharpen the edges of the spade a bit. Pretty lethal weapon now, but does the job on bamboo.

Very solid build quality and ripped into clay and flint ground I have which previously I used a 10 kg metal spike 5 feet long on! Fantastically quick to dig with my breaker now.

This is a tough well made bit. I had hard pan, roots and fence post concrete to break through. It did it easily. I would have given it 5 stars but the box said 1 1/8" hex and it is actually 30 mm. It works in my Arksen 2800 watt hammer but would not fit into my Makita 90 lb hammer which is an actual 1-1/8" holder. Well made and came super fast.

I used this with the XtremepowerUS 2200Watt Heavy Duty Electric Demolition Jack hammer Concrete Breaker W/Case, Gloves to break up hard dirt under and around stumps while digging them out. It's a good help and makes getting in a loosening the hard red dirt in the south west desert easier to remove.---Update after a few years---Are you prepping holes for planting trees, or pouring pilings under a deck? This is the way to get that hard dry dirt loosened up! (Ok, so watering the area a day or two before is even better to make it shovel only work, but if you forget...)This is my most used attachment out of the five since we've finished the concrete projects and are now landscaping, replacing trees, etc. The least used is the narrow chisel. Post/Rod pounder is the second most used.

I did not buy this tool when I first bought my TR industries hack hammer, I thought there was no way I would need it. The project I am working on is installing a french drain in my basement, along with adding steel beams to to brace the walls. The jack hammer broke up the concrete like no other, very easy. Then I started hand digging the 16" wide x 13" inch deep trench for the french drain; in clay. After about 20' of doing it by hand, I went to Amazon and bought this tool, it arrived very quick. I went to work with the jack hammer and this tool, and was removing clay at a rate of 5x faster than I was by hand, also I was a lot less beat up. If you ever find yourself buying a jack hammer, which is not a normal thing to own, then go a head and just get this spade, you will end up using it.

This bit is a discontinued Makita or Hitachi design: Makita part # MAKB-10300 which retails for about $140. This is a discontinued NON-STANDARD bit. This means that all the large Hex bit jack hammers sold at places like Home Depot WILL NOT FIT!Q: What does this mean?A: You buy this tool and have a choice of 3 bits: 1. diamond point (I almost never use it) 2. Chisel - very important for breaking concrete 3. Clay Spade - Optional but a must!! I use this the most -- for digging. You will never wear these bits out but if you do you can order more. Outside of these three bits there is noting else that fits or that is needed except longer bits which I would love and may make with my welder. The short bits put more of a strain on the back because you are bent over as you dig a hole. Longer bits let you straighten up. It is still a wonderful tool at an unbeatable price.----------------Makes digging so much easier! In the southwest united states (San Diego) the soil is so hard it is like concrete due to the clay content. It is a complete waste of time to do it with a shovel and you can hurt yourself. The shovel attachment is a MUST for your electric jack hammer. I got this shovel when I ordered the neiko industrial jack hammer.Wear: after digging several tons of soil and hours of digging shows little signs of wear. It is basically a copy of the older Makita chuck system at the top.---> This is bit is a discontinued Makita or Hitachi design: Makita part # MAKB-10300 which retails for about $140. TIP: Don't measure it. If you need additional bits order more of the diamond or chisel and cut the end off with a angle grinder and take the bit you want and weld this on to that (or take it to a welding shop and have them put a pipe over it for extra strength. This way you can make any bit you want. You could get the end you need on craigslist.
