The saddle was extremely comfortable to ride in the stirrups had to be kind of reconfigured to stay any pressure in them with the way they came they would fall off unfortunately the first time I fell off my horse my foot was stuck in the Stirrup and the saddle completely ripped in half the company was very good about getting the saddle back to them and giving me a refund though

Its very comfortable and fits great, but the stirrups slip out of place so I am constantly riding with uneven legs, and the all of the straps broke off after like a year (stirrup, girth, etc).

I love this bareback pad. It is comfy and is teaching me how to ride again. I am able to ride up and down steep trails, trot and canter. I am quite heavy set and thus pad has kept me for the past month and half I've been using it. To keep the stirrups from falling off be straps you can loop them around twice and they will stay. Where there is a will there is a solution. Also, this bareback pad does not come with a cinch which is a plus. Other bare back pads have nylon holding the pad to your horse which I wouldn't trust to take out like I do this bareback pad. I couldn't imagine how uncomfortable that would feel on your horse.

Update: 9/2019This thing fell the hell apart so fast. The handle ripped when I had another person riding with BARELY any pressure. Now it’s only used when there’s nothing else. It’s better to save your money and get a decent bareback pad that will actually last. Will NOT be buying againI've had one of these before and I love them. However, the stirrups kept slipping off so I had to duct tape them. And the handle ripped up the first time I used it. It's still usable and I do use it constantly still, but I wish it was a little more durable. But I am able to comfortably jump with it so that's what matters to me

It came a day early first off. it did not come with a cinch but I didn't care because I wanted to use my own anyway. I will definitely be taking the stirrups off because they are too short for my long legs, and I think I will get more out of the experience of bareback riding if I don't use stirrups to help keep my balance. I put it on my horse for the first time today and rode around my property. It is extremely comfortable! Yes it did slide down my horse's back as I went uphill, but my breast strap will take care of that (yay for D rings on the pad!!) I can't wait to use it on a longer ride soon!

Easy to handle. Lightweight. Quality craftsmanship. I use it for quick rides when I don't have time for the big-saddle routine. I place a light blanket on my horse's back and then the bareback pad. Fabulous for children.

I love to bareback. sometimes i ride with other people and someone short will borrow someone else's horse and i'll let them use my saddle. i had to really work hard to make the girth area small enough for my 15.5 hand mare but i did manage it. i've seen the other reviews about the stirrups but mine came pre-assembled and i had no problems with them. I do just fine with no saddle pad at all when cantering but the trotting gets painful. This pad really makes that particular gait much more comfortable and gives me extra grip when going up/down steep parts of the trail and doesnt slip when i lean over to fiddle with the gates. Whoever was complaining that the pad slips was probably not getting the girth tight enough.
