This dial indicator and magnetic base set is a good value for the price. The dial indicator is metric, well-made, and comes in a protective case. The magnetic base is adequate but not as high-quality, with a weaker magnet. It's suitable for basic tasks, but not for high-precision work.

Not terrible to have for the wood or metal shop. Great to determine a plane surface.Easy to read, mounts easy, seems accurate.No issues here. Very affordable

Base showed up with a good sized crack across the top right of the joint and the top left of the joint looks like a hairline crack. Probably wouldn’t get much life out of the base itself before the arm falls out due to to both of those cracks.

This is a well priced dial indicator for the hobbyist. It has limited range and needs careful attention to setup to get accurate readings. The price is great for those that need precision measurements occasionally but don't need a very expensive piece of equipment.

This dial indicator and magnetic base come as a set. The dial indicator is metric, which is why I got it. The dial indicator appears to be well made and comes in a protective fitted plastic case. The magnetic base is adequate but not the same quality as the dial indicator. The logo and color scheme of this Mitctcyc dial indicator box closely mimic the trade dress of Mitotoyu. This is a good indicator for the price.

I wasn't sure if the noga style base was actually coming with this indicator at this price. It does. This is a very well made base with the noga style arm and a .01mm scale indicator for fine tuning the concentricity of parts on my lathe (that's my use at least) it can be used for so much more though.

This dial indicator has a limited range, and the arm introduces enough play to affect its usefulness over a portion of that range. Careful setup is crucial to get meaningful results.While it can be used effectively with proper attention, it’s not a top-tier tool. The variability in the arm’s play makes it unsuitable for applications requiring high precision. It’s decent for basic tasks but not ideal for more demanding uses.

This will be used for measuring crankshaft tip runout on my giant scale RC gas engines. The one I've had and used for many years is SAE measurements, not metric. It uses a clamp mount. Frankly, it's higher precision than this one and has greater range. However, the magnetic mount will come in handy.For the price, this will be handy for my needs. Understand that the dial indicator will rotate exactly 1.5 times around the dial, which translates to a total measurement range of 1.50mm. There is no secondary indicator dial to denote if the deflection has gone past 360 degrees of rotation. This is pretty common for this style indicator, so it's not a fault. They are built to a price point. But it comes with a nice plastic case.The articulating arm with magnetic base is fair. It does lock in position, but there are 2 flaws.1. The magnet is fairly weak. It's one of the smaller magnetic bases I've ever seen used and as a result, you need to exercise caution to not knock if over when the magnet is engaged.2. I truly don't understand why manufacturers cannot de-grease metal parts before shipping the product. The arm assembly is covered with machine oil. This is truly not acceptable. It's hard to photograph, but the pen is pointing to some of the surface oil on the arm of the base.Net - dial indicator is good for the price point and is a 4+ rating. The magnetic mount assembly is a 2 or 3 rating. It could improve if the manufacturer bettered the magnet and cleaned the product before shipping it. I am torn between an overall 3 or 4 rating. If you need something precise and very high quality, this is a 3. If the cons I mention do not bother you, then this is a 4 star product, relative to the price.
